What are some of the best trade offers for Ayton?
Ayton looks destined to test RFA after Suns appear uninterested in maxing him.
What teams would be interested in Ayton?
What's the best offer the Sun's might get?
I'm guessing they'd want a big back with only CP3, Booker and Mikal as definite locks.
Ayton is at 12.6m. Other players for salary matching might be a combination of Jae at 9.7, Saric at 8.5, McGee at 5, Smith at 4.4

I think OKC could be quite aggressive for Ayton if they don't get Chet in the draft.
A team probably needs to want to max him if they trade for him. Probably hurts his value a little.

Why only if they dont get Chet? I see Chet as a guy that can play PF, if not is best at PF. Not to mention OKC has no real promising bigs on the roster. They could draft Chet and sign Ayton, start Chet at PF and also feed him the backup C minutes to give a stretch look to compliment Ayton. Its an ideal scenario for them IMO.
I also think the draft capital they have can come into play. OKC could throw a few FRP's to PHX along w/ a TPE to get them to play ball.
I dont think Ayton's relationship w/ PHX is unsalvageable, but then again being a good player and the only #1 pick to not get a extension outside Barrett might be something that sticks with him. Who knows.

I like Wiseman + Kuminga but CP3 probably doesn't want to deal with 19 year olds.
KAT seems like the more likely target. Suns would have to add more to the pot in addition to Ayton though.

I can't see them trading him. Just really hard to trade him and get better now. And they still control his rights.

I don't think GS goes for it unless they can find a bigger deal to send out Wiggins, I think even Lacob and crew would balk at next years tax bill with Ayton in the fold on a maxish deal.
*For reference, between salary and tax that'd cost them ~ an extra 150M+ next season.

Re: What are some of the best trade offers for Ayton?
It definitely won't happen, but I'd happily send a package containing PJ, Bouknight, and 2 1sts after our obligation to NY. Take Kai Jones instead of one of the picks if you want a true center to develop. Aside from the one good Al Jefferson season, Ayton would immediately become our best center since Alonzo Mourning, right? I'd trade more for Ayton than I would for Turner, for instance.
My stance on Ayton's contract situation is probably the same as what I expect Sarver's is: I'd match any offer he got in free agency. I'd stop short of offering him a max right now, but if he gets one on the open market, I'd match.

Well they have Poku and Bazley. I doubt they'd invest a max in Ayton and Chet. That's too much investment in bigs and Presti doesn't seem like the type to make that mistake.
Ayton and Phoenix don't have a bad relationship but the reality is that Ayton will likely get max offers in RFA. If Phoenix doesn't want to max him then they should look to trade him.
They should trade him for a winning player now. Don't think draft capital would be appealing

It saves him money this year, and next year, stretch-waive Wiggins or dump him on OKC for a 1st.

How much will Wiseman/Kuminga make next year? Around $15-16M, right? So the cost in real money next year is what $50M between the difference and the taxes? Im guessing so someone should get better numbers than me lol.
If Klay came back and looked really good, I have to admit I'd be pretty tempted. I'd have an MVP level player, a DPOY level player, 2 other plus starters and a solid one. And if I could keep Poole I have a pretty sexy top 6.
I'd be tempted to YOLO, but I still don't see Phoenix going for it. It would need a 3rd with a win now piece and them being willing to create a potential monster in their own conference.

Re: What are some of the best trade offers for Ayton?
To me, the only viable option is to try to package him to Minny for KAT if things go south there. Unless they can swing an Ayton return for another starter, I don't see it.
I will throw out something random, which is something around Ayton, Saric for Siakam+, with the plus going to find a center somewhere (Sabonis?).

Oh yeah, the larger issue is that PHX doesn't do it.
And unfortunately for GS the multipliers are a lot bigger at the higher numbers. I think I overestimated earlier, but I'm pretty sure it'd be over an extra 100M.

They'd go from about 40M over to about 55M over (not considering other moves).

Phx management kind of hates the Warriors more then any team in the league
-Draymond comments
-Kerr having players coach themselves against phx
-Warriors going after Suns reclamation projects claiming suns culture and development was poor.
Very small chance Ayton is moved, 0% chance he gets sent to the Warriors.

I'm certain GSW will end up paying less taxes next year if they want it, it's not hard to trade Wiggins+1st for Favors or someone else on cap team.
If Phoenix want cost controlled, and high enough potential players, that's their best bet.

Substract the saving from this year, and you'll end up with less, if PHO is game, I don't see GSW throwing away this home run.

Re: What are some of the best trade offers for Ayton?
I think the Suns long-term plan is to try to trade Ayton and CP3 for Towns and D'Lo, personally. They're both good friends with Booker and that trio with Mikal Bridges and the supporting cast Phoenix has put together could be fantastic with the "core four" all being 25 and under. Yes, Chris Paul is still great, but he's already 36 and will be 37 by the time the upcoming season ends. I think that contract extension was more about protecting the asset than Phoenix committing to playing Chris Paul until he's 40. I personally don't think Phoenix is title contenders in a "normal" season, so he doesn't really match their timeline. I also acknowledge that D'Lo is overpaid, but that's partially why they even have a chance of pulling this thing together. Towns is an incredibly valuable piece, so taking D'Lo back as well could set Phoenix apart in a bidding war.
That being said, I don't see the Wolves being interested in that package until after the upcoming season, at the earliest. Plus, you would almost certainly need a third team willing to give up "rebuilding" pieces to take both Chris Paul and Ayton. I don't see the Wolves being interested in either player if they're not trying to win-now.
That being said, even if the Wolves thing doesn't work out this also just allows Phoenix to be a lot more flexible going forward. You never know who could become available this season or what the circumstances might be. If they aren't 100% sold on Ayton, this was the right move. They can always just match any offer he gets in free agency next season.
I could also see them as a Simmons team, honestly. If they could get Simmons for CP3 and a couple smaller pieces, that makes them a really compelling team after they re-up Ayton.

I know it's not happening, but CP3, Cam, pick to Philly, Simmons to PHX, then Ayton, Saric, Crowder, Smith, pick(s) to Minny for DLo and Towns.
It's a ton of money, and it's tight, but I think theoretically possible with some mixing and matching of the pieces in a couple trades, if not really possible due to the size and other issues.
But:
DLo
Booker
Bridges
Simmons
Towns
