John wall to Dallas with new Orleans
Mavs in
John wall
1st round pick via bkn from hou
New Orleans in
Tim hardaway jr
Houston in
Dwight powell
Josh hart
Garrett temple
Boban
Trey burke
I'm the first to admit the fit isn't perfect for dallas and thj will be missed but walls playmaking and ability to get his own shot outweigh tims shooting. This team desperately needs that, we also have a tpe to add a depth guy or 2 that can help bolster the bench unit and add a first.
Rockets get off the wall contract, maybe they like hsrt as he's on a decent deal if not he's not guaranteed beyond this year and Houston saves 30mish next season. Of course an additional team maybe needed for roster spots but this is the framework.
Nop needs shooting and offered thj a big deal this summer so this is them getting their guy .

Re: John wall to Dallas with new Orleans
I guess Houston waives Brooks, House, Nwaba, and Augustine to complete this deal? That’s another $20+m in dead money this year and next just to clear the necessary roster spots to do something like this.
At the least, you should probably see if you could include some of those guys in this trade, or rope in teams to take on any of those players they may want to accommodate Houston. Either way, you’re seeing why 1 for 5 dead are infinitely unlikely during the season and the hard 15 man roster limits.

Re: John wall to Dallas with new Orleans
Not sure this pattern the past few days of Dallas trading multiple starters for 3rd string PG's. But I can't imagine that 1st round pick entices Dallas to take a major step back for 2 years. This deal just makes no sense for Dallas on any level.
And for Houston, why are they spending assets to turn Wall into a bunch of smaller contracts? While eating a bunch of money to do so? This seems wrong directionally as well.
Seems great for the Pels though who upgrade to THJ without spending an asset.

He is on Dallas. Luka will remain the starter. Brunson would remain the backup. That leaves 3rd string for John Wall.

Re: John wall to Dallas with new Orleans
Wall is 2nd stringer at best i doubt he could beat out brunson on 40m + deal they already have KP major contract . now if they wanted get rid KP this probably the only way any deal gets done but wall still makes 11m more then KP . no GM going touch Walls contract.

There's zero reason they both can't start. Kp dfs Bullock wall and luka is a balanced lineup

No its not. Wall needs the ball in his hands, he wont have that. On top of that he sucks at shooting. THJ doesnt need the ball in his hands, good shooter. So he is a better fit along luka.
Now, if wall had been a grear defender...but he isnt. Im pretty sure, from what we seen this far, that later in the season frank will start for mavs if he keeps this play up. Mavs dont need a pg, they could use a combo guard with playmaking abilities, but the level of comboguard that would be needed to break the starting lineup mavs dont have the assets for.

Did u forget wall was all all nba defense? Yea the mavs do need another pg its funny how you guys don't seem to understand in today's u need 2 playmakers to be successful in this league. Please show me these successful 1 ball hog only teams....... I'll wait

You need maybe 2 playmakers. You dont need 2 pgs. Its a big difference. Both need the ball, both sucks offball. It would be 4 vs 5 in offense

U know u can stagger minutes where wall gets half of his 30 minutes with the reserves which is what we need most, the can play 15 minutes together and 15 minutes apart that way there's always an A1 playmaker out there. U talk about 4 on 5 on offense right now its 3 on 5 as dfs and powell have zero ability to score or generate any offense

Re: John wall to Dallas with new Orleans
And pinky the hater arrives. Ill ask u this then; Do you consider Wall a better player then brunson? I dont think I do anymore. Which makes him 3rd string pg on this team. Now when frank gotten out of knickshell, in the end of the season i think i will rate him higher too. Wall is just not very good anymore, houston would have to add a plethora of picks or other value to get me to accept him in a trade
