I'm really curious why the word "finna" bothers you, but the word "gonna" doesn't.

Are you as triggered by ALL slang words or only certain ones?

I don't use the word "gonna" either. When you get into the work force and you are trying to have a serious career. You don't want to get into bad habits by using slang.

Same, it's incredibly stupid.

One of the worst trend on RealGM that started about 5 years ago here in earnest? Maybe only a few years ago? (yes it has origins elswhere and wasn't invented by RealGM obviously but I'm on this site and this is where it's used like a meme)

You don't have to write in college essay level English all the time to have a serious career.

No, but like I stated it creates bad habits and you might let something slip in a professional setting if you make it an everyday part of your vocabulary.

I find it stupid because "gonna" (which I use all the time) actually makes sense, isn't any longer to say or write, and doesn't sound like I'm trying too hard to be cool.

I'm able to balance a career in consulting and use professional language in my work life, while using slang with my friends and online.

Same way people can curse around their friends and watch their language around elders.

Tyler is looking better but he still seems as likely to go 9-25 as 9-16 and hit a bunch of 3's. He's still pressing too hard for my liking for a role player.

If you want to go with the slippery slope argument then you could find innumerable bad things could happen to you for all sorts of reasons. So why worry about a relatively minor language slip up at work, which I truly doubt would have disastrous consequences.

Maybe in your circles, but there are large parts of the US population that the word "finna" is used daily, just like you use "gonna" all the time.
