Looks pretty fake to me. I can't find a confirmation from any halfway reputable source. I also think it's unlikely that Phoenix would commit that kind of long term money to Bertans while they're still nickle-and-diming Ayton.

I do think it makes sense for Sheppard to shop Bertans for whatever cap relief he can get. But if the only thing he can get is a guy with an ACL tear and 2 years left on his deal, I'd decline. Better to let Bertans play, hopefully break out of his slump, and then see what other offers are available.

The team needs to get off of Bertans' contract if they wish to retain Harrell, KCP, Beal on a max, and still have luxtax room available to resign Hachimura and Avdija when their rookie deals expire.

They do need to get out of the Bertans deal. However, this is not the way. After all the deals that Shep has pulled off, this does not sound like something I’d expect from him. Bertans has value, so I’d expect a bit more in return.

Seems to me if we are trading for Bertans it would be for help at guard or the wings. Saric is injured and redundant with Bryant, and Smith plays a position we already have a log jam. Doesn't seem true, but if it was pass.

I think the idea here is to cut salary so they can keep guys like Harrell, for example. Not that this trade is a real thing because it sure doesn't seem that way but Bertans was barely in the rotation to begin with and his absence has brought better players into the rotation. A chance to move his money for less of an obligation might be something the team has interest in.

That's the key point -- to shorten the financial obligation. It doesn't matter what we get, because we aren't going to get anything.

When you trade a problem, you do not get a solution in return. All we can hope is to get a smaller problem.

Every single one of you writing on this subject now was gung ho & dee-lighted to resign Davis for a ton of money. I was the only one saying "no no no."

Nor did any of you -- to my recollection at least -- show any eagerness to trade him when Boston offered us a 2020 R1 pick in return.

You tell me; would we better off with one of Payton Prichard, Jayden Mcdaniels, or Xavier Tillman at @$2.1m & at $14m more cap room than we are with Bertans?

Crying over spilt milk, of course -- but how about we actually learn something? How would that be?

First thing I thought was fake. But I had imagined how can we get Jalen Smith and get rid of Bertands and this made me very happy
Bye bye Beal.

And it's not the end of the world if we keep Bertans. After this year, he's guaranteed 16 mil, 17 mil, and 5 mil out of contract price of 16 mil.

Pif, hopefully the lesson you learn from this is about wrongfully accusing people of being wrong - and then acting like because they were wrong, they shouldn't get to say anything about moving on. And the fact is, if Bertans hadn't had the injury problems and issues about staying in shape, he could very well be a net asset. We didn't know he'd have those issues when he re-signed. And what we should do going forward doesn't have anything to do what people thought we should have done in the past. And you don't have to bring up the issue of you being right and others being wrong every single time Bertans is brought up. That would be good lesson to learn - be humble... like me. :)

Hey look Tommy technically got a first for Westbrook, even if he traded it for holiday and a second rounder. I wouldn't say the man can't pull of a robbery.
