Billy Donovan at Providence vs Alabama. He balled out!

It does seem like he is a little bit better than Boylen and a hair better than Hoiberg. Ha!

Truth be told I am just grateful he isn't what we have had for so long, he is a legit coach. I love the job he has done this year. Sure the "challenges" and sticking with some guys can be nitpicked, but overall he has this team way ahead of schedule. That is huge IMHO. Congrats he got the award he deserved it IMHO.

Well earned. Hiring him was a big step in the right direction.

He isn't the perfect coach, but not many are. I think he is fantastic and I hope he stays with us for a long long time.

I particularly love his post game interviews, and the way he talks about the players and the games, I think he just understands the game really well, but he also gets it from a players perspective also.

Kudos to Billy!

He really deserves some credit for the chemistry of that the team has built so quickly, coupled with a defensive identity. Neither were expected (by me).

I think the strength of the schedule played a huge role in this decision

Sucks we dropped the games we did especially the ones we had a chance to win, but our November was flat out brutal. From the 4th game of the year to the rockets team played all plus .500 or near. 500 teams. So many back to backs on 1 day rest a couple 3 games in 4 nights a 5 game west coast trip with all competing west coast teams come home after the trip and get 5 games in 7 nights

Yet we still 2nd in the east. In hindsight that is incredible. Especially when you factor in we could have won a couple more games if we maybe had at least 1 more day of rest or Vucevic was in the line up etc. Good job Billy i still sometimes scratch my head at your rotations but I can't deny you have gotten these guys to buy in and whatever chemistry we have donovan is a big part of that.

He is working miracles with our complete lack of depth in the frontcourt.

I want to bump my grading up for Donovan. He has really done a good job with the "next man up" philosophy. I'm really impressed how new people pick up the defense so quickly. That's good coaching.

We are also starting to see more nuance in the offense. Its now to the point where its rarely the 4 out base offense. Most of the plays are the two screen at the top of the key set and we have also seen a Derozan curl around screens for a jumper.

Regardless, its pretty impressive as to how rarely players "blow" the play on either offense or defense. That's difficult to achieve.
