Terrible contract.

G - Bradley | Caruso
F - Green | Caldwell-Pope
F - Davis | Kuzma | Morris

The Nuggets are taking the big picture approach to his health? Maybe they should’ve taken the big picture approach before signing him to this huge extension.

I'm not saying Denver should throw in the towel for the season but with this MPJ news they should definitely take a cautious approach with the return of Jamal Murray.

Big picture thinking would be not offering a max contract one year early to a player medically red flagged as 'never gonna play in the NBA', with 2 back surgeries before the age of 21.

Dude is now 3 back surgeries in before his 24th birthday.

If there was 1 player I would have let field offers elsewhere and make the decision to match, it would have been MPJ

Jokic is going to have to leave the team. That is a ridiculous empty contract. Nuggets are going to be handicapped for the next 5 years, or until they can find a trade for MPJ to get off of his salary.

You cannot have a competitive team while 1/3 of your salary cap is not providing anything.

Nuggets had an entire year more to extend him.

If KP opts out of his final year the Mavs could make a run at Jokic. That would be fun

I remember mpj did a podcast interview a while ago talking about how an nba team doctor said he would never play in the nba.

He felt that the pre draft report was way overblown and it created a narrative against him which caused him to fall in the draft, but the doctor was right all along.

NFL players need a better union tbh.

MPJ will get paid his contract. NFL players are still begging for scraps.

NBA contracts are ridiculous (not that I feel sorry for the owners).

Pretty sure in the pre draft it was the Clippers medical team that red flagged him as well.

Edit: sure enough it was. He blamed the Clippers for hurting his draft stock.

"It was brutal for us," Doc Rivers said when asked how difficult it was to assess Porter on their draft board due to his back injury. "We had on our board, just the medical report, the red flag was so hot."

"We got the one guy we wanted in [Gilgeous-Alexander]," Rivers added. "And the second pick, when he was on the board, it was a brutal pass because everyone in the room knew his talent but it was more the injury concern. That was the only other concern."
