LeBron joins the Top 10 in Steals

Another milestone for LeBron. He will end his career with 42K points, 12K assists, 12K rebounds, 2.5K steals, 1K blocks not to mention the numerous playoff records he holds. If he wants to play 25 seasons, he will shatter the record books the same way Wilt did.

Think history will look even more highly Lebron career post retirement. Similar to Kareem.

Also there's usually a layer of haters that go away near the end of a long career. Nostalgia kicks in and some people grow fond of their favorite bad guy. There will always be Lebron haters, but a certain level of Lebron hater will retire with Lebron lol.

I think the opposite. I believe his style, conference and era will lower him over time.

Kareem was considered the GOAT during his playing days. Nowadays it's considered Blasphemy to suggest that he belongs in the GOAT conversation with Jordan and LeBron. It's like ESPN and all of the media pundits forgot about a player who is the all-time leading scorer in NBA history and has more MVP's than both Jordan and LeBron.

Lebron has only averaged 2 steals per game once in his career, but he's gonna finish top 5 all-time in steals. His longevity is absurd.

Pretty remarkable. LeBron is a special, special talent.

Also still boggles the mind that Hakeem --a centre-- is top 10. What a phenom he was, too.

He's also the All-Time leader in turnovers with 4685. He'll likely be the first player to hit 5K turnovers by the end of his career. His only hope is that Westbrook passes him eventually (he's already over 4K turnovers).

West would probably be 2nd or 3rd at worst had steals been recorded for most of his career and Russell might be top 10 as well.

This is before my time but apparently Kareem was pretty disliked at certain points in his career, which may shock many people due to his pretty benign rep these days.

That joke in Airplane about the little kids dad bashing Kareem was based on a lot of real sentiment in those days.

I don't find it surprising. I've always heard he was cold towards the press most of the time, and he was politically outspoken in his day. The "shut up and dribble" sentiment was probably the default back then.

This and civil rights issues were much more pressing in those days . Their a isssue now but Lebron hasn’t faced the racism Kareem has faced

Nearly 600 steals separates 1st from 2nd place. That's crazy.

Have we seen another player dominate a conference like that? Kd and giannis in the East right now.
