Danny's such a con artist, he wants to reacquire the player he loved, in his first month on the job, and thinks he can mess with Brad by asking for picks. "*Is it* a bad contract? Maybe it was a mistake to give it to him, Danny would know". Toine called him a snake

Why did every basketball writer suddenly start saying "draft capital" at the same time? It's annoying as hell.

Gonna need a lot of draft capital to take Westbrook

Brad wants a top 25 player for Smart but will settle for top 40

Westbrook, a top 39 player, to Sixers.
Simmons to Celtics.
Schroder/Horford to Lakers.

Smart + two 2nd rounders to Utah.
Mitchell to Boston.

Done and done.

I know we are joking. But people don't actually think Utah would give up arguably their best player for Marcus Smart, right?

Of course we do. It's a fair deal!

Spoiler:
It'd actually be Clarkson or Bogdanovic most likely, or even Conley in a package

Celtics are not trading for Westbrook

The Lakers literally don't have the assets to make that happen, under the obvious assumption that they're keeping LeBron and AD.

Trading Smart midseason while keeping Schroeder wouldn't make much sense. Having Schroeder start at PG the rest of the year would be a kind of backwards step in terms of instilling/installing the kind of play Ime wants to.

That said, it could be OK to trade away both if a real PG came back. Ditto if they gambled on Richardson/Pritchard staying health at PG, with some sort of OK third-stringer behind them. (Cue the Wanamaker and/or IT references ...)

I would send J-Rich and Dennis for Lonzo.

Conley+Bogdanovic for Smart+Horford

Maybe Conley can be our Chris Paul?

I would do that even though I'm the biggest Smart fan, except Conley has 2+ years left on his contract iinm. Kemba-disaster level potential if he gets injured. Conley is a better fit with Jays+TL in terms of "setting them up" and fulfilling traditional PG duties. Conley can stroke it from deep unlike Smart. Bogey is better shooter at the 4 than Horford. Defense takes a hit but whatever, we need a shakeup.

I am big Smart fan as well but I also think it is time for a shake up.

Conley has developed into a really good three point shooter, the problem is he is always injured.

I would even do Smart+Horford for Conley+Ingles+?

I doubt Utah’s looking to blow it up this much, but how is Conley doing this year? Are they tired of him?

Both teams. But Smarts contract is not looking good right now.

Why?

Smart has some of the best advanced stats on the team?

I was posting that in Jest, but Mitchell is a hell of a player.

Is the perfect fit next to the Jays, imo.

Oh I love Mitchell, I just worry about how his game will age. He’s become a much better outside shooter though, which will help. He’s soooo dependent on his athleticism and quickness though.
