It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize why I got little playing time and was released,” he said. “But it does take people with a conscience to speak out and say it’s not right.”

Maybe turning into a wingnut who hangs out with disgraced neoconservatives and right wing propogandists isnt making him that many friends either.

Social activism is great if you want that to be a part of your life as a known commodity, but it comes with risks no matter how skilled or talented you might be. Kaepernick can speak to that in volumes as his moves have largely cost him his career.

Disclaimer: I'm about freedom of speech and freedom of choice; however, those freedoms don't hold any weight in the court of public opinion, be they right or wrong. One must take heed of their words or actions given the personal effect it can have on their life.

I'm actually curious as to why he's a free agent still. Dude averaged 11 and 11 last year. I know he's not a starter, but geez. Not even on a team at all?

I expect, social baggage be damned, someone will pick him up. He's a contributor with size and that's one thing you can't teach.

Someone here posted his advanced defensive stats & video earlier this year and they were literally record setting bad, all-time low type stuff. I think he picked it up a little near the deadline but it was pretty brutal.

Probably because he can't play a single ounce of defense?

Yeah, it's because you're complete trash on defense and cant shoot, which is highly undesirable in a C in 2022. And the other guys playing ahead of you in Boston were way better. Dude is getting really annoying at this point. Trying to blame the league for his suckage. Foh

I think he just sucks now. Ala Jared Sullinger. I doubt social activism plays much of a part in it.
Sam Hinkie gets removed from the league for enacting a plan approved by the fanbase yet NIco Harrison and Patrick Dumont keep their job for alienating their fanbase. Make it make sense.

Crazy how differently his career could've gone had he come into the league 10+ years earlier, cause the man had a soft touch around the rim, the power to muscle through a lot of NBAers on his way to the hoop, and a good sense for offensive rebounds.

But life in the NBA has become really rough on the lead-footed post-up big if...like enes...they can't shoot, pass, or defend.

Way too many people turning a blind eye to China’s injustices

Uyghur people deserve much more on a humanitarian level from the world

He's older and not that good anymore, but I am surprised he's not a 3rd string center somewhere.

Defense is half the game and he is terrible on that end.

This is a constant theme in the NBA. We have great character guys who constantly get minutes (But are scrubs and do not add value on the court) and guys with bad attitudes that obviously have talent but are shunned, and usually never get another contract. This even extends to GM's (Hinkie) and even owners.

I don't follow Kanter's off court antics very much but I see he has spoken against things the NBA does not stand with, so he is being blackballed. It is unfortunate for him but what did he expect? This is how the NBA is under Adam Silver.

Have to give him credit for speaking the truth about China when millions are on the line, Lebron certainly wouldn't.

just like with jeremy lin or Carmelo before him there is not a conspiracy lol, they just were washed/ineffective like many other players

Carmelo didnt even have a obvious conspiracy angle for why he didnt have a team (like lin race or enes outspoken stuff) and still went jobless for a while
