Siakam with a vintage 25/12/10 performance, FVV+OG+GTJ combine for 60 while hitting 10 threes and Boucher and Achiuwa give us a boost off the bench with hustle and determination that leads to extra possessions off the glass. Harden breaks out for a big game and Embiid gets his guaranteed 12-15 FTA, but it's not enough to overcome a desperate Raptors team because Philly's shooters go cold.

Samson Folk has said it and I agree, you have experiment with not sending helping on Harden. He seems totally content being a distributor in this series and you need to test his willingness and ability to score on volume attempts. He's not getting all the way to the rim on his drives. Give him enough space to encourage his step back 3s with a solid contest and if he beats you with a flurry of those, so be it. You'd rather that than open shots from their role players at this point. You can't keep letting Maxey shoot open 3s or attack aggressive closeouts, he's not going to start missing with the shot diet he's getting.

The problem with this strategy is Harden will hunt bad knee FVV, who isn't able to keep in front or bother his 3. Still, you have to try.

This is why I'm expecting Harden to have a big game. I think Nurse will change up the defence and play more straight up on Harden, especially if GTJ is good to go. Maybe he gets hot and hits 4-5 step-back threes or maybe he hits half a dozen floaters while getting to the line 10 times, but he hasn't been able to get to the rim at all so far, so you have to try something different. I think we have to just let Embiid/Harden try to score on their own and live with the results. We haven't necessarily been giving up open threes, but Maxey and Harris have both been very good at faking the shot and driving by the defender flying by then pulling up 10-15 feet away. Those uncontested floaters and midrange jumpers are easy makes for players like Maxey and Harris. Take away those looks and I think their 3FG% will also come back down to earth then suddenly they're scoring ~15 PPG each rather than 25-30 PPG each with the ability to make the next pass to an open man due to the scrambling defence (17 AST and 4 TOV combined between them).
