Durant: 0-10 FG in the 2nd Half

Post#1 » by HypeMode » Thu Apr 21, 2022 3:54 am

Can we stop comparing him to Lebron or Kobe. He is not on their level. He's not better than Curry. I've never seen a player get so many free passes for underperforming in the playoffs. If LeBron ever went even 2-10 FG in the 2nd half, RealGM and ESPN would blow up. KD shoots 0-10 and everyone will forget about it tomorrow.

He scored more than 8 points in a finals game so, he has room for error I'd think.

I always laugh when people say this guy is on the same level as Kawhi and Bron in the postseason.

On the unstoppable Warriors maybe but on regular teams he's a tier below those 2

yep i would rather have 1 game of kawhi in this series than a 7 game choker ruining games. nets dynasty is nearly over hope kyrie finds a good team.

The shots weren't even the issue, the turnovers were.

Objectively, Durant is better post Achilles than Kobe.

But Durant's had an up and down career with the injuries in his prime, which Kobe didn't have, missing '19 and '15. And '16 he played poorly when it mattered.

No one thinks he's as good as LeBron or Kobe though, but in his prime, he was a top 2 player in the league for a couple of years.

What he's doing at 33 post Achilles is impressive though, and to knock him for 1 bad game given that is silly.

KD needs to play in a system like GS. He cannot iso spam like he did in OKC. He lacks the playmaking and handles

Yeah but he almost beat Giannis by himself that one time.
I mean he didn't, but like if things were different he would have

Kobe playoff career, 26, 5, 5 on 48 percent EFG
Durant payoffs - 30, 8, 4 on 53 percent EFG

A lot of people would take Durant 5 year prime over Kobes.

This series is a glimpse of what KD would look like if he faced the early 2000's defenses that Kobe did. It would not be pretty.

I'm not going to troll or bait NJ fans or KD fans, but as a devout KD non-fan, I'll admit to savoring his struggles.

I think it's just a matter of time before a KD defender says something to the effect that 'at least he's in the playoffs, unlike LeBron'... even though they're the same people who want to talk about all the seasons James got to the Finals but didn't win. When that happens, y'all be sure to point out the lunacy of asserting that somehow, making the playoffs but losing in the first round is simultaneously better than missing the playoffs and than getting all the way to the Finals.

I love KD but have never had him over lebron and I still think that it's a huge flaw at 7ft that he always basically plays like a sg. Get bigger in the paint

This dude ran to GS to win the easiest championships of NBA history. The media keeps pushing him as the best player in the world when he hasn’t done Jack **** without the help of one of the greatest teams of all time.

The Celtic defense really turned it up a notch on him in the 2nd half. If you were watching the game, you can see how glued the Celtic defenders were to him, and he got stripped several times or just lost the ball. Tatum blocked him on a jumpshot AGAIN. By the end, he had this "I can't get them off me" look on his face, and I don't blame him at all.

He's a superb scorer, but intense physicality can really throw him off his game (reminds me of the Cavs' gameplan against Steph in the 2016 finals). With his thin and lean frame, he just can't physically impose his will and get to the paint if he's struggling with his jumper, unlike LeBron.

I still expect him to have a 40-point game in this series. But so far, Tatum has outplayed him for 2 games. Tatum has taken on the challenge and is making sure he doesn't miss.

27 points though. I’m glad we made him earn those at the line, but he’s still dangerous.
