[Super Hot Take From Igoudala] Rasheed Wallace > Giannis Antetokounmpo In Todays NBA

Post#1 » by OrangeBlueSkies » Tue Jul 12, 2022 3:29 pm

I agree Rasheed would be a way better player than he was in todays nba , but better than Greekness? Come on

https://www.tmz.com/2022/07/12/andre-iguodala-rasheed-wallace-better-than-giannis-antetokounmpo-todays-nba/
Rasheed Wallace probably could have been a top-five player in the league for a 10-year stretch," Iguodala said on the show. "He was shooting half-court shots left-handed and right-handed.

If Rasheed Wallace played in modern-day basketball, if he played in our league today, he’d be a top-five player. He’d be better than Giannis and I love Giannis.

As if taking 1 handed half court shots in practice means you'd be the best player in the league today. What a bizarre take

Andre Iguodala is launching a podcast and is one of the most business minded people in the NBA. Expect several intentional hot takes in the near future because pissing you off is like injecting steroids into your Youtube channel and algorithm strategy.

i mean, no, but he would be a seamless fit on a bunch of teams and easier to work around than giannis. theres probably under 10 5 men that can give giannis the spacing while not making giannis himself the 5 defensively, Rasheed theres about 20 guys you can put at the 4 beside rasheed in todays nba.

Nope. Not if Rasheed played in today's NBA with the same brain.

I don't know about that, part of what makes Giannis one of the best in the game if not the best is his competitive drive, not sure Rasheed had that same drive, and he was a bit of a hot head to boot.

Giannis gets disrespected a lot by older players... first Oakley, now Iguodala.

And he already has a title, most importantly, as the main player.

That's why I'm rooting for him to get more... these old fellas will burn their tongues in due time.

Iguodala also said Kyrie is the 4th best PG of all time and a top 20 player ever.

Stupid idiot!

I really hope that in 20 years, today's players don't make statements like, "Mike Conley would be a top 5 player if he played in 2042".

Put another way, Iggy thinks Rasheed would be the best player in the league right now.

Sheed was a below average three point shooter for his era (95 career 3P+) when the baseline was considerably lower. Why would he be any better now?

If "Wallace probably could have been a top-five player in the league for a 10-year stretch", why wasn't he? Could having one of thee most mercurial dispositions in hoops history have anything to do with it?

Meanwhile Giannis has maximized every bit of talent he was born with & hard worked his way to acquiring more talents than anyone ever believed he'd realistically have.

The only thing that ever got in Rasheed's way was Rasheed.

Brian Scalabrine would be the REAL MAMBA in today's NBA.

As mentioned earlier, Sheed could have been great in any era- he just didn’t have the proper mentality and focus to consistently realize his potential

Iguodala's premise is just, "since he can shoot from outside and had range", that's it. Rasheed was NOT a volume scorer or take over player, it had nothing to do with era playstyle.

Being in a league where outside shooting is utilized more doesn't make him any of those things. Heck, sometimes we complained that Sheed was to comfortable settling for outisde shots instead of attacking, and he might just too much from three.

Iguodala should know himself, he's also a player who has a lot of skills but never had the mentality or overall scoring skillset to be a #1 option or guy that takes over offensively.

Sheed would be great, but era doesn't take him from very good two way player to top 5 guy and yearly MVP candidate, that's simply ridiculous.

This is obviously ridiculous but let's not sully Sheed's fine name. He was awesome.
