Your Paolo Banchero projections?
The first comparison that comes to my mind is AD. But it's not really a great one, is it?
Banchero is sturdier, and doesn't seem as injury prone as AD. And he doesn't have the long wingspan i.e. shouldn't be the dominant rebounder and defender that AD is...
He also strikes me as a far more polished passer than AD.
e: also he has much better handles and uses them a lot more to boot. AD is more of an off-ball player.
LeBron is a comparison I've seen but don't really understand, young LeBron was eye-poppingly athletic and a ridiculous rim attacker. Banchero seems almost like the opposite.
Of course, we all know Banchero is the future GOAT who will win numerous MVP/DPOY awards. I'm only asking about playstyle comparisons here.

AD? There’s nothing at all similar about AD’s game and Banchero’s. Also, not sure who mentioned LeBron.

A 3pt shooting Boozer with better mobility and defense (not hard since Boozer’s defense was atrocious) seems about right.

I'm not expecting that much tbh. Maybe a few all star games. I'm curious how legit his size is though.

A mix of Julius Randle and Blake Griffin. A bigger build than both, perhaps better fluidity and ball skills, but not much explosion. Good vision tho. He's truly a big guard though. Watching him is like watching that annoying big dude that wants the ball up top all the time and be the point guard, except in this case he's juuuuust capable enough to actually do it consistently and be the best choice on the floor for that role.
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

Boozer was a tweener 6'7.75, Paolo is over 6'10" without shoes. Boozer also had no handle. Paolo at the very least has a Kawhi-type handle.Statlanta wrote:Cleveland Boozer is my projection.

That's exactly what the Magic will probably end up doing with him. A lot of the offense will run through him.Heej wrote:A mix of Julius Randle and Blake Griffin. I was thinking DeMarcus Cousins and Blake Griffin. Similar idea.

I don't think those guys handle the ball like Banchero. The first poster that compares him to a guard is exactly what I thought. He handles it like a Paul George or a Kawhi.oaktownwarriors87 wrote:Heej wrote:A mix of Julius Randle and Blake Griffin. Man those guys had some insane handles for bigs tho. Boogie even moreso imo. But yeah Banchero is a lot more wing-like. I guess Kat minus shooting plus ballhandling is also kinda apt. He moves so well and so controlled for his size, it's uncanny.

I think the Lebron comparisons are the best ones I've seen so far, BUT and this is a HUGE but, he is no where near the freakish athlete young Lebron was. Visually he kind of reminds me of Pistons Blake but with a tad bit more handle.

Re: Your Paolo Banchero projections?
I expect us to see offensive run through Paolo early in his career to relatively underwhelming results, due to his inconsistencies in his shot and the Magic having Tragic spacing.
What we already know about Paolo is he is a great passer and ball handler for a big man his size and can beat similar sized bigs to the rim with him his handle. Once [If] he develops a more consistent shot he will become a true 3-level scorer who is also a great playmaker/passer.
He reminds me of Alvan Adams
