Post#1 » by mdonnelly1989 » Sat Oct 22, 2022 5:41 pm

I'm going to be the GM for all 4 teams and try to make the best team I can for all 4.

All 1 Year Peaks

Team #1

PG: Fourth Round Pick #10 PG: Steve Nash
First Round Pick #1: SG: Michael Jordan (The Goat)
Fourth Round Pick #9: SF: Scottie Pippen
Third Round #1 PF: Kevin Garnett
Second Round Pick #5 C: Tim Duncan

Team #2

Fourth Round Pick #8 PG: Chris Paul
Fourth Round Pick #7 SG: Kevin Durant
First Round Pick #2 SF: Lebron James
Third Round Pick #2 PF: Giannis
Second Round Pick #4 C: Hakeem Olajuwon

Team #3

Fourth Round Pick #5 PG: Magic Johnson (Couldn't find an ideal pick until here)
Third Round Pick #3 SG: D - Wade
Second Round Pick #3: SF: Larry Bird
Fourth Round Pick #6 PF: Karl Malone
First Round Pick #3 C: Shaq O'Neal

Team #4

Third Round Pick #4 PG: Oscar Robertson
Fourth Round Pick #3. SG: Jerry West
Fourth Round Pick #4 SF: Dr. J
Second Round Pick #2 PF: Bill Russell (The defense between Russell and Chamberlain is going to be insaanee)
First Round Pick #4 C: Wilt Chamberlain

Team #5

Second Round Pick #1 PG: Stephen Curry (Although lower on the peaks project, the value per position is too high not to take)
Third Round Pick #5 SG: Kobe Bryant
Fourth Round Pick #2: SF: Kawhi Leonard
Fourth Round Pick #1 PF: Dirk Nowitski
First Round Pick #5 C: Kareem Abdul Jabaar

Its between Team 1, Team 2 and Team 5 due to spacing issues for Teams 3 and 4.

I dont understand why you would the Centers early since its the deepest position of GOAT level play [Shaq/Hakeem/Walton/Russell/Duncan/Wilt/Kareem] while Bird/Curry would be easy 1st round picks in an all-time draft with as little as 5 teams.

What rules? In the 60s rules, team 4 walks away with this depending on what years you pick which you didn't specify. Today's rules and you need more spacing as Colbinii said. The rules and referees matter because each generation adapts its game to the rules that exist.

Hard agree on the centers. It’s deep, so leave it to the end. You can get a good defensive anchor late, but getting an offensive engine is a lot harder.

Taking Shaq third in the first round of a 5 team all-time draft is a bad move imo. Center is the best represented position among the best players in NBA history so you could get similar value in later rounds because even if they all take a center out of position like you did with Bill Russell there'd still be top 20 guys like Moses Malone and David Robinson left.

You show you understand this concept by picking Curry at the top of the second round but then don't have Magic untill the last pick in the fourth round, which is odd.
