Can we all finally agree that Embiid is a flat-track bully?

Post#1 » by WestGOAT » Sun Oct 23, 2022 11:54 am

For someone that supposedly "deserved" the MVP last season, he should then be held to high standards. Well the guy isn't even better on defence than Jokic anymore, so how can he even compare to the true MVP.

Hell when was the last time Embiid put in the effort on defence? He is too out of shape to make an impact on that end anymore. Oh he had plantar fasciitis? What a conincidence for that to come out when he started the season awful. Somehow when he is putting in poor performances there is always that convenient excuse that he is battling some injuries to justify his poor conditioning.

However when he is playing against inferior teams he relishes the occasions and puts up big numbers, bullying the likes of KAT and Drummond. Strangely enough when it's the playoffs playing against Toronto and Celtics that swagger is nowhere to be seen

Embiid is a very talented, but flawed, player and had a lot of potential back in the day. Now he gets so moody and looks so disinterested on the court when things are not going his way, kinda like Lebron (but unlike Lebron he hasn't won jack) and is not afraid to throw fellow teammates under the bus.

People should stop getting carried away by his "MVP"-like regular-seaosn performances, and realize how soft of a player he really is.

Don't worry bro, once Ben Simmons is gone Embiid will be able to operate in the low post with all kinds of spacing. He'll be unstoppable.

yeah. Shaq was lazy and that probably resulted in him not realizing his full potential (as great as he was) but he wasn't lazy when it really mattered, he excelled in big moments and he was also a leader

you can't say any of those things about Embiid

He likes to flop and fall on top of people. He's very skilled at both.

He's a great player and I understand why he was frustrated through the years because of that idiot on the same team. But, one thing he's still lacking is true leadership by example. I'd say that he's too emotional and protective of his own image. He's not at Luka's level of whining and flopping, but ain't far from that and he's trying to cover every single mistake with a flop or a subsequent excuses based on injuries that aren't really noticeable.

All in all, I don't see him as a bully and he looks like a nice guy, aside from occasional reckless flops that endanger other players, including his own teammates.

The biggest stain on his image are the unbearable Philly fans who dare to put him in the same class with Jokic and Giannis, which is obviously pretty far from the truth.

Is there anybody that really thinks he should have been MVP? The media had him #2 but everybody with a brain had Giannis over him. His lack of conditioning is a major issue and he always came off as posturing/insecure/self obsessed/lacking fortitude when things get hard for him rather than a real leader or winner. If the Bucks had drafted him over Jabari he would have deferred to Giannis's alpha.

This year's 'Ben Simmons' will be Glenn Rivers.

I do find it odd no one holds his playoff failures against him while everybody else has to get to a Finals to be considered a top player.

Apparently, Embiid owns prime real estate in the OP's head.

Didn't Embiid drop 40 yesterday? I hardly think Embiid is Phili's main problem, considering their bench managed a total of 10 points (and Niang had 8 of those).

Embiid has never been an elite decision-maker, and I do agree he is quick to sulk. When he is rolling, he's unstoppable, but frustrate him, and his play can drop off a bit.

But that's not really the main storyline in Phili's 0-3 start. Harden, Embiid, Maxey, and Tobias have played well enough and will play even better over the course of this season. Melton and Tucker are the next leading scorers at 4.7ppg.

The Sixers bench has started the season off the charts awful. That has nothing to do with Embiid or Harden (the guys everyone will enjoy jeering at).

Embiid dropped 40 shooting 14/25 in a loss on the tanking Spurs

Embiid dropped 15 shooting 6/21 in a loss to the Bucks missing Kris Middleton

Embiid dropped 26 shooting 9/18 in a loss to the Celtics against mostly Horford/ and last year Chinese Association player Vonleh

(both Horford and Vonleh played less than 25 minutes that game so idk who else he played against... Blake Griffin? The Celtics don't have a backup Center or any Center to speak of right now but it didn't matter because Embiid refused to play transition defense so we just got free layups after every miss... not turnover... miss. Thanks for not even trying Embiid, you deserve to refund the fans their ticket prices at the very least.)

If anything his 40 points in a loss yesterday kind of continues the pattern to show that he's a front runner and that's about it.

The only time he's faced a team that actually has a Center on the roster he put up 15 for 6/21. But regardless even facing a tanking team he's found a way to guide his team to a loss.

Harden, Maxey, and even Tobias are playing as well as you could have hoped for to start the year. The only player for Philly that's under achieving right now is Embiid on both sides of the court and it's because he doesn't want to try.

Embiid, very talented player, but mentally weak. Bulter would have been the prefect mentor but due to Simmons, Sixers decided to go with the soft Harris instead.
