Gil was saying he's trying to lose weight for something and didn't want to be fat. Looks like it was for this.

This is wonderful news and long overdue.

Gilbert is arguably one of the biggest sports stars in the history of DC sports, and (probably) tied with John Riggins as the most fun.

He deserves his recognition.

I couldn’t be happier.

Gilbert's "0" is unofficially unavailable and out of rotation. I wonder if they will ever actually retire his jersey. This is a first step.

Oof. Gilbert is Gilbert, but did we really have Bulletproof Dray Blatche, the Cinnamon brothers Nick & JaVale , and DeShawn Stevenson all on the same team? Plus the now incarcerated Javaris Crittendon? And Etan and Haywood who fought each other what, 2 or 3 times?

The knucklehead factor was insurmountable. Damn.

If you put prime Gil on this team we have now we might be a tittle contender he was that good. But man id be happy to see him back can you imagine this man on commentary with a hot mic lol!

They should go back to the old wizards branding but use the cherry blossom color scheme for the court and jerseys.

The current look is just too blah

That would be pretty sweet, although with only one player who played much defense - they may not do that well.
