Re: Durant throws his teammates under the bus
I thought great players elevated their teammates.
Oh wait, it's not fair to Durant. He needs a minimum of 3 HOF level players around him to succeed.

While not factually wrong, it's not something one should say to the media.
I don't even know if this quote is true

Kd, you're consider one of the best player in the game, yes you should be able to carry a bunch of scrubs..I can't believe this dude just called out his teammates like that.
Jokic had bunch of nobodies last year and was still able to place top 5 in the west.

Re: Durant throws his teammates under the bus
What a quote by KD to throw his teammates under the bus
There are certain things in life you just simply don't say especially in public. Dwade struggled from 2007 to 2009 and would never say this lol and even Butler won't say this in public.
Looks like he is fed up and wants to be out again.

Re: Durant throws his teammates under the bus
He’s trying to force a trade. Probably not too long before he formally demands one again .
His comments are truly inappropriate. You rarely see this kind of undermining of teammates in the NBA unless there’s a motive behind it.

Re: Durant throws his teammates under the bus
Any other player in his situation I would say this is the beginning of them openly sabotaging the team to get traded, but KD just might actually be this entitled and tone deaf

"I'd rather have Kevin Love spacing out to the three point line than anything (Karl) Malone brings"

Re: Durant throws his teammates under the bus
He's just saying the truth and the whole context of the quote doesn't make it sound that bad.
In Year 16, Durant says he takes pride in remaining a top-level player and wants to set an example of how a player can maximize situations that may not be ideal. He said the Nets don't measure up with the best in the league on paper, but he hopes to instill confidence into his teammates that they have a legitimate chance against anyone.
“Look at our starting lineup. Edmond Sumner, Royce O’Neale, Joe Harris, [Nic] Claxton and me. It’s not disrespect, but what are you expecting from that group? Durant asked of B/R. “You expect us to win because I’m out there. So if you’re watching from that lens, you’re expecting us to play well because No. 7 is out there.
"I’m really having a good time. I wish y'all could hear me talk during the game. If I got mic’d up more, people would stop asking me if I'm happy or not. I'm enjoying every moment I get to step on this f--king court, and part of it is because I tore my Achilles. And the pandemic, I didn’t know if we were going to play again. I didn't know if I was going to play again.
"I was just like, 'This can't be it for me.' I have to really enjoy every single moment I'm out here. That’s part of being a pro. I have to be coachable, I have to knock down shots, I have to be aggressive, and I have to talk to my teammates the right way. That's the journey and the battle.

he did elevate his teammates when they almost beat the bucks. The guys just not happy in his current situation, and hes frustrated. bens not really playing well, irving cant play for dubious reasons, front office cant really make moves to improve the team because of the turmoil. I took that more as "let kyrie play" than anything.

Re: Durant throws his teammates under the bus
Durant probably has maybe 1-2 of high level play left and he’s playing on this trash nets team lol. He wanted out, not sure why nets are keeping him thinking this is some championship roster. Ben Simmons is literal trash right now and won’t get better, there’s just million of excuses but the dude sucks at basketball. It’s time to trade KD and rebuild. This team has no shot of doing anything

Yea Haynes is a reputable reporter.
I wish we would like to the actual source rather than accounts like NBA Central.

Thanks for posting more of his comments. I read them all and truthfully, still think his comments are very inappropriate.
He still mentions them by name and saying the FO expects us to win with this squad since number 7 is on the court. Don’t remember too many stars calling out their teammates like that in the 45 years I’ve been watching this league.
If that’s not undermining , not sure what is.
He’s a great player . But he is clearly a narcissist who wants out .
