Our Rotations and Medical Staff Suck

Post#1 » by geokilla » Sat Dec 3, 2022 5:09 am

Why is Fred and Scottie out there? They're clearly playing injured and as much as we want to win, there's no point in winning right now when we're a treadmill team. Even the media is starting to talk about it.

He hasn't looked healthy since his first injury, just bench the kid.

I disagree. Toronto has been non stop praised for their medical staff led by McKechnie over the past decade. The man was a trainer for 6 championships.

Nurse has repeatedly said Scottie is fine and fit to play. This is the NBA, nobody is 100% at all times, they all have to fight through the minor stuff. Scottie is playing bad because he's a limited player dealing with increased responsibilities in his second season.

FVV is just cooked tbh don't see what a staff could do about an unathletic guard losing a step he couldn't afford to lose

FVV is suffering from similar thing that Draymond went through. In the beginning Draymond at centre was Death Line up but eventually him being undersized started to take its toll on his body. Same thing with FVV.

Shut them down for a few weeks. This season is a wash.

Barnes especially shouldn't be playing through injuries. It develops bad habits as he tries to play around the pain.

Ah yes, our Medical Staff is finally getting their turn on the paddle.

My guesses for next in line are our Mascot who hasn't done anything worthwhile since pissing Devon Booker off and Nick Nurse's hairline. We've gotten worse and worse since his hair has gotten less and less. Coincidence? I think not.

Exactly. Since when did the league become so soft and the fans become the same?

Players always played hurt in the 90's and there were plenty of players with long careers, some of them the best to ever play the game.

Who wants to watch half injured players on the court playing 90s quality basketball?

Who wants to watch and pay for basketball where the top players are never playing?

What’s the point of playing hurt if it’s a detriment to the team?

Furthermore, this team has invested so much in Scottie that they refused to include him in a trade for a superstar and one of the best scorers of NBA history, yet they’re out here potentially jeopardizing the future of an asset they purport to hold at extremely high value. It doesn’t make any sense and is borderline stupid.

If Scottie has a serious leg/hip/back injury in the next few years we’re going to look back at this season with well-deserved anger for how he’s been managed.
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive

Blaming the medical staff this time ...I think I''ve seen all the panic that this forum can froth up now.

As for rotations, he's almost tried everything everyone here asked for and it was even worse.

Come on… you can do better than that. Only blaming the medical staff and coach? What about Masai? He shouldn’t get a free pass. MLSE? They need some blame too. Security? Absolutely. The seat ushers? Don’t even get me started. Parking attendants? They’ve been sub par all season. Cashiers at Real Sports Apparel? Just awful.

If you’re going to place blame, make sure you do it properly. Be better.

Does anyone think it has something to do with Rico's extreme workouts? The body needs rest, and it is possible they are testing their bodies over the limit. Also, FVV probably needed surgery on his knee and opted against it due to it being a contract year and the team is pushing for a playoff spot. There is no way he is playing this bad, unless he is injured. I have issues with his height and lack of athleticism. But he was damn good last season, until he got injured. Raptors medical staff has been pretty good imo. They even kept Lowry relatively healthy. The only major thing that has changed is the hiring of Rico. It's not a knock on Rico, but it is probably better if you reserve his workouts for the off season.

People want to see a positive development curve. Mediocre or not. You want to see growth.

Perspective is required however.

This is it exactly. I would rather us lose and be entertained by the growth of Banton, Champagnie, Dowtin Jr, Ron Harper Jr., than to put out our All Star and ROY and get creamed because the two of them are not healthy enough to defend.

Nurse has always been, if you can't defend, then sit. I want to see that Nurse again. When Nurse says he is fit to play, that just means he is not in serious danger of really hurting himself. It does not mean we will see last year's Scottie out there.
