I wouldn't give him from 2005. My take has always been he was the best player from 2009-2020. You can argue regular season best player for Curry/KD a couple times, but when it comes down to it when it counts in the playoffs, I personally had LeBron as best player for those years.

Edit - I realized after I posted how ironic that playoff, when it counts statement simply because he had some really harsh series in that time period... but sue me, those are my years

In general, yes I agree. I think Duncan was probably overall better until like 2007. From 2009-2018 I think LeBron was obviously the best player. He was insane in the post season and regular season, consistent, dominant, and impacted all phases of the game.

2019 he wasn't the best player because he was injured. 2020 he was again. After that he fell off a bit.

I think he has more years as 'the best player in the league' than anyone else in league history although Kareem might have a fair argument.

He wasn't the best in 05, 06, 07, 08, 11, 15, 16, 17, or 19. Draymond is a delusional stan.

Right, the guy who guarded LeBron for half a decade in the finals... the biggest finals rival of the 2010s is a stan, but every past player who calls Jordan GOAT is correct.

This is where I can't take the argument seriously. We have people who SWEAR by past players opinions on GOATs, until a player says LeBron is the GOAT.

Purely hypothetical:

But… young PG and young Horford with Lebron in his stint equivalent to Grant/Pippen who knows

Lebron has gone up against so many powerhouse teams he never got a break lol. Celtics/Spurs/GSW one after another and only once faltered. Incredible consistency

They say weak East, defensively? Certainly not.

Warriors vs Cavs. Bron was always the best player in the series. Steph just had the better teams

Another player might have had a better year here or there, but I think the point is the best player over those 15 years was Lebron.

Not in 2005. I think it started in 2007, Game 5 of ECF against Pistons when LeBron scored the Cleveland Cavaliers 25 straight points, including 29 out of the teams last 30 points and hit the game-winning layup in overtime. Dirk in 2011 then Kawhi in 2019 with legendary Playoffs run playing for the Raptors then took it back the next year winning his 4th championship with the Lakers. Then Solomon Hill jump in his knee that ended his physical prime permanently. So from 2007-2020 except in 2011 and 2019.

I'm not a Kobe fan, but saying he was better than Kobe during his title run is crazy.

Kobe basically had to will that Lakers team to win and preform at a very high level in the playoffs.

LeBron had a lot of mental obstacles in those Cavs years which held him back. This culminated in the 2011 Finals which was a terrible choke job.

From 2012-20 is where I would say hes the best player. 06-10 was either Kobe or Duncan. 11 was Dirk.

19 he wasn't the best player either. 17 and 18 are debatable also.

I'd shorten the window to 08/09 to 17/18

I'd say 08 to 20. Duncan before and Giannis after.

Maybe not every single one of those years but generally yes he was. Monumental longevity and consistency as a player.

The best player over that 15-year stretch?
Yeah I'm buying that.

The best player for all of those seasons?
Yeah, definitely not :noway:

Kinda disagree on the start but from 09 to 20 LBJ was the best player in the world.

There's a very legimate argument from 05/06-19/20 Lebron was the best player in the NBA.

I'd really love to argue with someone otherwise.
