Young players have much bigger up and down swings then established players, and older teams.MortSahlfan wrote:I just the guys to play hard. That last game stunk.
I expect a more competitive game today. Hopefully.

Re: Pistons-Hawks (7:30)
I just read on here "Trae Young likeliest star to be traded". I think Dejounte Murray is a hell of a player, and would build around him, a guy who plays both ends, and in return, get a guy who is also young and who can defend, and so what if he doesn't shoot 35-footers.

Re: Pistons-Hawks (7:30)
Nothing to do with this game, but I almost feel like the Hawks' surprise trip to the ECF (the year they beat Sixers in Simmon's last games as a Sixer in 2021) was bad for the team in the long run.
It caused them to overcommit to a core that just wasn't that good. Murray is a good player but hasn't proved to be an additive parter to Trae Young- the two of them basically just take turns running the offense- there's no real synergy. Neither player is playing badly per se, just not really an effective partnership.

I also wondered that when he left the Spurs. I think it's a trading chip, and if executives think Trae might ask out of Atlanta, they could finally allow Murray to be the player he is. There seems to be many disenchanted players/teams, and could be someone more complementary.
I see the mid-range becoming a weapon. Guys working off-the-ball like Rip. Even those few times Rip didn't score 20, he tired the hell out of the defenses.

Thing is, the Hawks gave up a LOT of draft capital to get Murray.
That trade looks real rough for them.

Re: Pistons-Hawks (7:30)
This game has been cancelled due to lack of interest.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Hey man, this is going to be the highlight of my day.
I first thought, "I thought the game was in Atlanta" because the weather is horrible. I felt nervousness under my knees as I sat on my couch reading your message.

They took a risk similar to the Cavs with D.Mitch. Seems to be working out well for the Cavs. Worked for the Suns with CP3+Booker too.
Its a synergy problem between Young and Murray for sure.

On that note, glad that Duren seems to have secured a starting spot this early. Good sign. Playing Bagley over Duren made me nauseous.

Young is incredible. Just creates so many open looks for his teammates.

Re: Pistons-Hawks (7:30)
It's games like these, against very average teams like the Hawks, that I just can't see how its going to be any better next year, unless they draft an all-time great, and he contributes 30 a night.

With Casey at the helm, I have zero confidence in them developing players or a team concept.

These last two games have been two of our worst.

I was watching thinking I wonder how much we would have to trade to get Young. Hes only 24 and has already led his team to the ECF where they won two games.
We could easily get our 1st rounder back thats heavily protected so we can trade future picks. We actually have a ton of young players to consolidate for a trade like this.

I started watching and we started not scoring for a quarter. Sheesh.
