It was probably Kuz. But Delon and Deni were excellent tonight.

9/11 free throws by Deni (Kanyewest thank you)

Wow!

15/10 w 3 steals and a new move. R to L crossover and-1

I should say Wright. Kuz is obviously deserving.

However, I voted DENI ADVIJA! He’s overjoyed Rui is gone, apparently.

Kuz was good, but not THAT good. Scoring 30 points on a TS% of .595 is a solid outing, but the team posted a TS% of .628. Kuzma was bringing volume, but not surplus efficiency. I'm not knocking him. Someone had to step up and score and he did a very good job. But the POTG has to be Avdija or Wright. Those guys stuffed the stat sheet, played great D, and scored with hyper efficiency. I'm going with Deni because he played a lot more minutes and had to guard Doncic all night.

That’s how I viewed it too, almost voted for Avdija, noticed Wright had never won, thought about his big plays at the end, shook my head and gave him the vote. If those three played like that regularly, and Beal, Porzingis, and the rest, integrated into a consistent defensively intense team identity, this team could be really interesting. Not holding my breath, but I really like how the team looks with Avdija and Wright.

nothing to add, but i think the POTG tally to be fascinating and a weirdly useful metric to quantify eye-test. maybe next season we also track Loser of the game and net the tallies for a better stat.

But a lot simpler, then PIF, Nate, Nivek, etc. number crunching. Could be a handy metric.

My only problem with our POTG system is that we only track POTG after wins. For example, two years ago, Beal was very consistent, putting up solid numbers in wins and losses. Westbrook was really erratic. When he played well, we won the game and he got POTG; when he played poorly, we lost and nobody got POTG. At the end of the season it looked like Westbrook was our best player because he had the most POTG's. It was a disservice to Beal.

For accuracy, we either need to reward the steady consistent guy who plays well even in losses. Or we need to identify the worst player in losses and assign them blame for the loss.

yeah, that's what i was trying to get at with LOTG - that we start tracking losses as well to capture consistency.

true, bad juju. should just stick to calling players "incredibly sucky" and have threads dedicated to their ineptitude on the realgm servers from now until the sun explodes

I mean Player of the Loss would be interesting, sure. But somehow I expect it would be disheartening to see the pages peppered with them. It is far easier to be a fan when you can enjoy your own denial and celebrate the wins a bit too long while letting the losses fade into memory. Incredibly Sucky threads, those are cathartic. When well deserved. Especially by players who think they are too good. But I could be wrong. What do I know. I am not the gatekeeper of juju. Though that would be a cool title to pad the resume with, it might raise questions on Linked In.
