Was a good win but how I'm tired to relishing in small victories

Post#1 » by The-Stallion70 » Sat Feb 4, 2023 4:34 am

11 years after the Hennigan trade our team is still not back in contention. The Hennigan rebuild was truly excruciating and 6 years into Weltham, we have an intriguing young team and I think they are growing but at the end of the day we are still 13th the conference.

I am just sick of celebrating individual stats or a victory here or there over a playoff team. I want the Magic to at least make the playoffs this year and really I just want us to be back in contention right now.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

No moral victories.

Wait, I mean no small victories.

Not sure I get the point of this thread. I think everybody ideally wants their young team to be good with a limited amount of growing pains.

Was just about to say this... We all want to win... But there are steps to this thing.... At least we're heading in the right direction

What I'm saying is that we can't be satisfied given our recent track record of continued failure. Our team is encouraging but I'm still just passed off that we are still at this point.

Yeah but it's not one continued rebuild since we made the playoffs in between. We had to restart since we invested in 3 players that are probably high level role players (Gordon) /3rd stars at best (in Vuc) and Fournier who fell off completely. I get the frustration but this team is showing good stuff this year.

Just because it was a good win doesn’t mean relishing is in order.
The Magic are in a good spot with the #5 draft odds and need to keep it.
TANK not Playoffs.

Guilty!

I'm just shocked that cartoon aired 25 years ago still has big audience, and that nothing new is popular for kids.

I saw that Marvel is doing 1990s X men reboot... like.. can anybody in hollywood create anything new?

In general, everything is just reboot, retool, remake, reimagination. In 2022 there were two f***ing pinocchio movies :banghead:

It's just such a complete lack of imagination and desire to create new stories and 100% focus on cash grab on already established name brand.

We were one of the worst teams in league last year and were expected to be one of the worst this year.

The fact that we're the team that suffered from the most injuries in the NBA and are still on pace to improve sign is a great sign for things to come, if we manage to make a play in push it would be awesome but even if we don't there's a great consolation prize.

This is the best situation this franchise was in since 2010, maybe ever all things considered.

We are 15-12 since Dec 5th that is a 2 month trend.
We have a bad record, we aren’t a bad bad team.

It's only been two years since the rebuild took place. From the time we drafted Dwight to making it to the championship, it took six years. Our best players are in their first year and second year. It's just now the magic are showing signs of real potential. I know it's been a long time, but people need to be patient.

The Magic are gonna finish this season like 14 or 15 games better than last year with a 20 year old and 21 year old leading the way.

They're gonna go into this summer with two more incoming lotto picks and cap space to offer a max contract.

Life is good. Things are trending up.

When your best players are 20 and 21 you aren't making much noise this year. But they have shown they will be, starting next year. They are showing the potential already with their play for the last two months and that to me is exciting and encouraging.
