Welcome Mac McClung
IDK much about him but we just signed him to a two way contract. In all likelihood, he'll be glued to the bench but yay I guess. Julian Champagnie will be waived to make room for him.

Lol
Why not? Could use a 3rd or 4th string PG just in case we have multiple injuries.

Re: Welcome Mac McClung
I'm a fan of this kid and have watched nearly all his games in the G League and college. He's undersized and not a very good defender, but he's an absolute freak athlete and an extremely talented offensive player with a bulldog mentality.
he's also an incredibly hard worker who's improved a lot since leaving Texas Tech - he never played the 1 in college or HS but has developed into a legit lead guard over the last season and a half playing the position with South Bay and Delaware. And he's gone from a 34% shooter from deep coming out in 2021 to shooting 38% in South Bay and now 50% with the Blue Coats this year, as well as getting a lot more efficient as a scorer and decision maker - he averages 19.1ppg on 11.7 attempts and plays under 26mpg.
he's never going to be an All-Star and probably won't ever be a starter (unless he makes a major defensive leap) but I think hes got the toughness and work ethic along with his athletic ability to develop into a rotation player in an offensive sparkplug off the bench role somewhere.

When Maxey is struggling to score, he probably can provide back-up for our 20ppg 6th man scorer.

yeah, he's not challenging for Maxey's spot anytime soon - I'm just saying I think there's some potential to him becoming a rotation player somewhere down the road.
I really like watching the kid - he's an exciting player and has that Jason Williams showtime flair to his game - and wanted to give some perspective for those who don't know who he is, but I'm also realistic about his prospects.

I also dont think he’s challenging Maxey. I just think he could be a decent back-up for Maxey, in case Maxey goes thru a slump.

Backup to the backup to the backup. Can't forget Shake.

The plan should be evident at this point, trade Maxey for a good package and all the minutes go to McClung.

Apparently this is just a publicity stunt so he can wear a Sixers uniform during the Slam Dunk Contest!!!

Tiny high scoring guard from Virginia? It worked once for us might as well try it again.

There is like 1cm of difference in height between Maxey and McClung, it's not about height, the issue is wingspan and standing reach, where McClung is really lackluster, 7'10 standing reach is pathetic. But of course his skill level is lights ahead of Maxey.

You've really elevated your status with some of these awful takes. As though scoring in the G-League is even remotely comparable to the NBA.Bum Adebayo wrote:There is like 1cm of difference in height between Maxey and McClung, it's not about height, the issue is wingspan and standing reach, where McClung is really lackluster, 7'10 standing reach is pathetic. Paul Reed was a scoring machine in the GLeague, but in the NBA it's borderline horrifying watching him create. With that said, I would definitely like to see what McClung can do at some point. Defensively he's most likely going to get cooked.

Scoring efficiency along with length has usually been the calling card for us. Shake was an incredibly efficient scorer in the G League.
Christian Wood was also fantastically efficient as a scorer in the G League. Isaiah Joe too.
