Minnesota trade: Towns
Minnesota receive: Ingram, pick(s) from OKC/NOP
NOP trade: JV, Ingram, pick(s)
NOP receive: Towns
OKC trade: 2nd(s)
OKC receive: JV
Why for NOP: add an elite stretch 5 and free up minutes for their young promising wings
Why for Minnesota: break up twin tower with another star wing
Why for OKC: add much needed size and rebounding as a stop gap while Holmgren develops. Also roll capspace over to following year
Towns
Zion
Trey
Jones
CJ
Gobert
McDaniels
Ingram
Edwards
Conley
How many/which picks is needed from NOP?

Is Towns really more valuable than Ingram?

Pretty good trade here. The main concern of course is that the Pelicans defense could get worse, given that Karl Anthony Towns is not a very good defender. However Karl Anthony Towns is good enough on offense where it would be worth the risk.

The beauty is that JV whom Towns is replacing is also bad on D, so they dont actually get worse on D. I think Towns + Trey is net upgrade over JV and Ingram, esp when considering Zion's fit

I think New Orleans could keep JV as a backup C.
Ingram for KAT deal makes sense though. Pelicans put in an FRP or 2.
CJ, Herb, TM3, Zion, KAT
Alvarado, Daniels, JRich, Nance, Val
Conley, Ant, Ingram, McDaniels, Gobert
JMac, Nowell, Anderson, Prince, Naz

I'm not interested in that trade whatsoever. I'd send CJ/JV/filler and picks.

You value Ingram locked in for 2 years over KAT locked in for 4?

Edwards > CJ, Gobert > JV. That makes zero sense for wolves

Call me crazy, give me a big long wing over a center made of Charmin who can't defend, any day. Minnesota has to add. Fight me.

That's crazy.
You take the 3x All Star, 2x All-NBA locked in to 4 years over the 1x All Star locked in to 2 years..

I normally think thats a reasonable take, except NOP is loaded w/ wings and really lacking in C.

Value wise not the worst trade.
Ingram is a flight risk in MN. No way wolves trade Towns for such a risk.

It’s okay to acknowledge that you know nothing about a player and move on without commenting an incredibly tired narrative. Especially if, by made of charmin you’re comparing health which…I mean, Ingram isn’t exactly an Ironman.

I doubt Minny would do this, I get the fit, I just see Towns as a level above ingram, Ingram has only played more then 62 games once in his career. (Kat has 5 times by comparison) Kat is just a better player in my opinon warts and all, I mean if there was enough picks and what they are doing is not working, I get it. But given the lengths of contract and the injury history I don't see Minny shipping of a guy who has been there his whole carrer and chose to resign with them.
Would make NO much better, Kat is a great fit offensifly next to zion, that would not be a good defensive team.

Yeah. We grew Ingram into who he is now, I have more faith in him staying here than KAT. And I don't know how I'd like our two best players being bigs. I'd rather trade for a guard like SGA if we're doing a lateral trade. If we trade for a big I'd rather keep Ingram and send rebuilding or retooling assets like CJ and JV. Not our long wing that shoots 40% from 3.

For all the bickering about the key pieces I also think OKC is getting off easy on value here. Should probably need to kick in something else but not a lot.

I don’t think the Pels have anything that would entice OKC to trade SGA. He’s the best player on either team. Different world from this past summer.

I dont see JV fetching a 1st at this point, esp not with any matching salary going back... I struggled to think of who would offer matching salary and a 1st for him

They don't have a reason to. I just don’t think KAT in New Orleans is all that, especially for Ingram. I'd prefer something that looks like the Sabonis/Haliburton trade. Or the CJ trade.
