GT: 76ers @ Nets || Sunday 4/9/23 || 1:00 PM
Happy Easter all.
Last game of the season. Not really playing for anything today, looks like everyone is going to rest.
Really proud of this team for staying the source and figuring things out. Not gonna lie, I did not envision us staying in this spot. I thought we would've dropped to play-in or worse.
Would like a lot of things to happen in the offseason, but let's focus on the playoffs coming up. Embiid is going to be scary and borderline unstoppable. Hope Clax can hold his own, Sharpe plays smart, and we can get lucky with him getting into foul trouble often.

Sucks Sumner is out today, would have been nice to give him some extended time today. Probably won't be a pretty one with all the players out today.

The only game I am able to find is the LI Nets vs the Delaware Blue Coast. Odd that Ian and Sarah are doing the play by play and commentary for a G-League game.
Dinwiddie has apparently taught Duke how to give up on a play in frustration and complain to the refs.

Cam going to get his 50.
I don't understand JVs approach on Cam at all. Everytime this guy gets minutes and the green light he will put up 30, I'd rather his coach foster and nurture his prodigious scoring gifts rather than trying to bury it by reinforcing negative stereotypes on his play.
Is Cam taking a few too many shots really gonna cost us a title this year? Come on JV be honest with yourself

Good one

Cam was torching these guys, I'll give him that. I just wish he could score consistently while playing and sharing the ball with guys who aren't scrubs.

The issue with Cam when he goes on his scoring blitzes is that he freezes everyone else out of the offense to get his 40 points and we end up losing. Same song and dance

He just went 1 vs 3 and bricked a lay up
I know everyone hates Vaughn, but there's a reason why Cam rides the bench when better players are in the line up.

By the way his teammates are freezing Cam out when he's so close to 50, I can see Cam has a long way to go when it comes to developing his intangibles as far as fitting into a team goes.
I mean a guy like Patty Mills is the consummate team player and a true vet, if he's not even trying to set you up then that's signs that you have to do something different.

And when Spencer does the same thing?

Spence plays hero ball towards the end of games, but he's been a pretty willing passer in the first 3 quarters of games.
Cam has shown glimpses of being a facilitator, but he's still got major issues with tunnel vision.

Spencer can pass the ball. Cam can't even make basic reads. If he is off, he is completely useless

I hate that too

Neither Cam or Spencer should be hero balling. This team should be all about ball movement and freeing up Bridges and Johnson for looks.

Right. He goes into tunnel vision mode and everything just grinds to a halt.
It's fine when we're basically conceding the game, but in real games that's going to get old fast when he's going 1 on 5 while our best player is on the floor

Cam is really talented, but his style of play isn't conducive to winning or team basketball. He draws gravity from the defense and doesn't even look to move the ball.

Cam getting an efficient 18 points and 7 assists would go a long way towards winning instead of chucking for 46 points and 1 assist in a 30 point loss.
