Re: Haynes: No timetable for a Kawhi return.
Team is toast, there is no getting better for Kawhi at this stage unfortunately. Not sure what his value would be even if they wanted to rebuild, and this point it makes no sense. They might as well bring Russ back to get some regular season help.

This team is truly cursed. Their best chance was the bubble where Kawhi and PG both got 3 months off in the middle of the season. Unless that ever happens again, this team has no chance.

They have to blow it up. It was worth a try and anyone who says otherwise is not being genuine. I never felt that PG13 was a good enough 1B to a mostly absent 1A but seriously, with a little luck it might have worked.
If Kawhi's knee is seriously this bad and needs this much rest, then the roster he's on should be good enough to make the conference finals without him otherwise there's no point. He should go to the Warriors. In the same role Durant played it could work.

Yeah, people can complain all they want but this was one of those gambles that you HAVE to take. It didn't work out, and it's unfortunate, but they've still had arguably more success with this crew than any other Clippers era. It's unfortunate bc I do believe that Kawhi and PG with this team would have had a great shot at it.Sane wrote:They have to blow it up. Theres no upside to blowing it up. You will get miserable returns for Kawhi and PG because they are old and unreliable. You are getting a weak haul for them IMO.
Just run em till the wheels fall off. Have decent seasons and pray for health and a shot.

Kawhi on the Warriors could work.
Unfortunately, he's being paid well north of 40 million annually but barely plays half the time. And there is still no guarantee he can even suit up for the playoffs, even with excessive load management. His contract is toxic.

Naw. The reason has nothing to do with return and everything to do with getting a year or two ahead of schedule on what is inevitable anyway. Could be stacking up assets.

I agree- ride it until they are 35-36 years old and hope for the best.
Kawhi looked great before this latest injury and was healthy the entire 2nd half of the season- I don’t think this is a random injury. It seemed to occur when ayton nudged him on a fast break in game 1

I agree, Kawhi would be a great add to any roster but you just can't count on him to be on the court and he isn't going to become more reliable with age.

Yea, I'd put him and PG out in the market to see what kind of return is out there. They just aren't available enough to achieve anything.

Kawhi should be used as a super 6th man going forward playing 16-23 minutes a game.

Crazy that this series has essentially become Russ + role players vs. KD, CP3 and Book.

Clippers still don't control their picks until 2027. Would be a disaster. Gona gift OKC top 5 picks if they trade Kawhi and PG and nothing to show for it.
I doubt teams are going to give up much for Kawhi when he's near the end of his career on those knees.
