Suns anchored their team around him and made an NBA finals then proceeded to win a franchise record 65 wins. He, and Mikal, are the only players picked in the lotto of the 2018 draft class to make an NBA finals.

Not too familiar with him. In our recent playoff loss to the Suns, we had some pages dedicated to understanding why Ayton sucks. It's baffling watching guys who are great at basketball, but don't particularly like playing it. Some said it was his sleep schedule, up all night playing Pac-Man World 2. Others say it's his inability to handle the ball. Hope something clicks inside, I don't know. Reminds me of Andrew Bynum without the injuries. Not on the court, but in the way you could tell Andrew would rather be building a PC, or bowling with his cousin Roman than be on the court.

Serious answer:

Bagley is freakin terrible, man. I mean, I’m disappointed in Ayton’s demeanor and effort level, and a little disappointed in his lack of development, but..

Bagley can’t make a defensive read, can’t shoot outside of the paint with any consistency, can’t set a good screen, can’t box out, and can’t pass out of a double or see the floor at all. He’s a solid rebounder only because he’s a fast leaper, he’s a solid man defender because he’s a good athlete, and he’s a reasonably high percentage shooter because he takes super basic shots. He isn’t improving and he gets hurt frequently. If you play him at power forward he provides no help defense and gets cooked by any decent set plays with a pick involved, and if you play him at center it’s a layup line for any uncontained drives.

As mediocre as the general perception of Bagley is, the reality is even worse. Ayton is so much better, even without trying, than Bagley could ever be.

At the time Ayton was consensus 1st overall pick.

You make it sound like hes their most valuable player   he was never the best or even 2nd best player on his team. Last season he prolly wasnt even 3rd best. 5 seasons in as the number 1 pick he hasnt even sniffed an all star game and prolly never will as hes been declining ever since the 21 playoffs since he got his contract and doesnt even care about basketball ala
fellow content, chicken heart frauds like Ben Simmons.

To be honest you're the least qualified person to comment on any Suns player. You're a known Suns hater and got the hater goggles on. Your opinion carries little to no value when it comes to the Suns. As for DA, anyone who watched the Suns playoffa theblast 2 seasoms can tell you he's the reason Suns beat NOLA last year and Clippers im the WCF. He had AD dodging him looking for Jae Crowder anytime he could in the 1st round.

I dont think ayton will ever be elite, but he earned a fresh start and the suns wouldn't allow it. Doesn't inspire a lot of extra deduction, at least I don't think so

Speaking as someone who has liked the suns over the years until recent history, it's hard to like them atm. Booker, mister 70 in a massive blow-out game, cp3 is jusy cp3 and durant I love greener pastures, it's really hard to appreciate the current roster

Monty has been holding back the Suns. We've all wanted him to be the Suns Kerr/Nurse but he's more of the Mark Jackson/Casey. I hope he proves me wrong these playoffs but it seems that Suns won't win until they get a competent coach who understands rotations and in-game adjustments better. Not someone who goes off of "loyalty".

What do you mean declining? He averaged 14 ppg in 2021 and picked up his scoring to 17ppg and 18ppg while being the 3rd or 4th option on offense.

You seem to have irrational hate towards him for whatever reason. lol

He's one of the most frustrating players to watch, because it's abundantly clear the talent, size and athleticism are all there, it's all a question of effort and mentality, it's been 5 years and he hasn't shown he's interested.

Then he came back and had a really good game 2. He's inconsistent and this isn't anything new. Tonight he might be a juggernaut or he might fall asleep.
