Who'll have the bigger impact this Playoff Series?

Jayson Tatum

Was ice cold then suddenly caught fire at the end of Game 6 then completely obliterated the Sixers in Game 7 w/ an incredible 51pt performance.

Butler will have the bigger impact but the Celtics will still win as they have more overall quality. Similar to last year's series, thought the gap may be even bigger.

Butler but Celtics are more stacked so I think they will win.

I mean Jimmy Butler needs to have a a bigger impact or the Heat won't have a chance in the series. Right?

It's really hard to vote Tatum here because his team is absolutely stacked and even if he has 4-20 shooting nights, the team can still win. Butler is carrying a team that without him, would be a bottom 5 team in the league and yet he has somehow gotten this team to the ECF. It's truly remarkable what he has done.

Celtics should win this series quite comfortably but I wouldn't put it past Butler to make this a somewhat competitive series.

Jimmy is the better player but Tatum has the better cast around him. Switch Jimmy and Tatum and Celtics would sweep Miami. Jimmy showed from that Lakers series that he is good enough for at least 2 wins singlehandly, so in this situation I can see the series going at least 6 games.

Id say Jimmy is the more consistent and well rounded player

Tatum has a lot of off nights but when he is on he is a better offensive unit. Anyway. Really excited to see this matchup and I'm one who hopes Jimmy eventually wins one. Just not this year.

God did philly screw this up or not.

I’d expect Tatum to play a tiny bit better than Butler on average because he’s a better player who does tend to come up big in the playoffs as well and his confidence is sky high at the end of the Sixers series. However, you could still say that Jimmy has a bigger impact on the series since it’s only gonna be competitive if he goes absolutely nuts and he’s very capable of doing that.

We've seen Jimmy have offensive explosions so it's more than just consistency. 40-point triple doubles in the Finals vs LeBron/AD, 56-point game against title favorites, 47/9/8 last season facing elimination on the road, etc.

Depends how healthy Jimmy is.
He averaged 37 in the first round against the Bucks, and completely dominated Holiday who many consider one of the best perimeter defenders in the league.
Jimmy is capable of heights few can reach, but he physically doesn't seem to be able to sustain it for an entire playoff run.
Tatum can also reach rare heights, but doesn't mentally seem to be able to sustain it for even a whole playoff series.

I think this may be closer than what people expect. Jayson Tatum has the higher ceiling. However it's hard to trust Jayson Tatum staying consistent over the course of a 7 game series. We have seen this vs the 76ers. Game game 7 for example, he looked like the best player in the NBA. However in game 6, he was basically negative on the court for the 1st 3 quarter of the game. However Jimmy Butler will have a bring a significant impact game. Even he's not scoring very well, he will still play great defense. We seen it in the Buck series he can actually carry a team and had some historic playoff performances. Overall I think Butler will the more impactful player in this series. However the Celtics will likely win the series in 6 or 7 games due to having a better supporting cast.

It depends on how Jimmy's ankle is. If he isn't 100%, Tatum will and this will be a short series. If not, it'll be a grinding series and the Heat can pull it off.

Tatum is out for bodies, and even though he has the better team, he has also built a resume just as good as Butlers in the postseason.

I think he slowed he was better than the MVP, and wants to show he is better than Jimmy who just rolled Giannis. He was clearly chasing Steph's record last game, so he's aware of what his peers are doing. He saw what Jimmy just did, and I think he's going to come prepared.
