Lotto News/Mocks/Predictions

Post#1 » by clyde21 » Fri Jun 9, 2023 12:54 am

lotto guess right now:

Spurs - Victor Wembanyama
Hornets - Scoot Henderson
Blazers - Brandon Miller (high possibility of trade here)
Rockets - Amen Thompson (Anthony Black should be a clear choice here but most intel points to Amen right now)
Pistons - Cam Whitmore
Magic - Ausar Thompson (another draft twitter pick, but maybe they go Gradey Dick here unless they think he'll be available at 11)
Pacers - Taylor Hendricks (last couple of years they've drafted non-freshmen in Benny and Duarte, but no non-FS worthy of this pick)
Wizards - Cason Wallace
Jazz - Anthony Black
Mavs - Bilal Coulibaly (not sure what they do here, cant get read on Mavs draft propensity, but they like internationals and Bilal is a good fit next to Luka theoretically. problem is he's raw and still couple of years away).
Magic - Gradey Dick
Thunder - Leonard Miller
Raptors - Jalen Hood-Schifino
Pels - Jordan Hawkins (they should just grab the best shooter left on board and that's Hawkins).

no intel but my best guesses as of now

1. Wemby to the Spurs
2. Brandon Miller to the Hornets
3. Portland trades Nurkic and #3 which is Scoot Henderson, and other minor peices to the Nets for Mikal Bridges, and #22

Could possibily see a big slide for the Thompson Twins due to the level of competition they played. I think they have to impress a team in a workout to secure thier spots. Brandon Miller could also see a big time slide if there are things about his involvement that have not come out pubicly but the teams picking in his range have uncovered.

Do you think the Nets promised with one of their picks [or Utah]? I am thinking a team with multiple 1sts.

i dunno, seems way too rich for my taste imo, but he was a high RSCI guy and maybe did amazing in workouts and caught their eye and they are willing to overlook underwhelming year at Kentucky where wings usually go to die recently

GG Jackson cancelling workouts too, being linked to Pacers, maybe w/ their end of R1 picks?

I would be shocked if Jarace Walker didn't get drafted in the lottery

who drops? had him at 10 previously to the Mavs but with Bilal surging someone has to leave the lotto, where else does he fit? maybe OKC i guess instead of Miller but MIller has been linked to them more, doesn't really fit w/ Raptors or Pels, maybe the Pacers at 7 but then Hendricks probably drops.

i think one of Hendricks or Walker drops, unless this Bilal surge is all a smokescreen.

Walker is in play at both 4, 5 and 7 according to media mock drafts. I value him higher than Whitmore or Hendricks. Somebody always drops, maybe its Walker. We'll see

somebody def always drops, I don't know if I see him going to Houston, they have Eason/Bari/Alpy at the a 3-5, they need a PG, and also don't see him going to Detroit, they kinda have a similar player in Beef Stew already but it's a possibility, but think Whitmore is a better fit there next to Cade/Ivey...7 I can see instead of Hendricks but again that probably means Hendricks drops.

There's no way Walker is even dropping out of the top 10, nevermind the lottery.
In fact, it's very possible that the Pistons take him at 5.
I suppose anything is possible but it would be one of the more shocking drops in draft history if Walker falls out of the lottery.

I think the Jazz would strongly consider Kobe Bufkin over Anthony Black at #9 if they can't trade up for Whitmore/Walker. That would likely push Anthony Black to #10, where Dallas would probably trade the pick. A lot of mock drafts assume the Jazz will take Black, but there's no actual intel suggesting that. The Jazz want guys who can shoot as a priority.

I think he was told a team would sign him if he went undrafted, but that could be wrong. I'm interested in him, think he could have used another year in college.

well well well

won't go back to college...maybe GL for a year?

probably good choice for him to be in next year's class than this one, although he's older for a freshmen.
