I hope we play the Agua Caliente roster for those games. The last thing we need is either of our stars getting injured in Silver's meaningless gimmick tournament.

The 67 games across both stages of the In-Season Tournament will count toward the regular-season standings except the Championship. Each team will continue to play 82 regular-season games in the 2023-24 season, including those games that are part of Group Play and the Knockout Rounds.

They still count for the regular season, until you make it all the way to the end.

Why should we tank 4 games (@DEN, @DAL, NO, HOU) which also impact our playoff seeding? I thought we wanted to be more serious about winning.

I'm fairly optimistic about this gimmick. At least they're trying to make the first few months more exciting.

Even if only some teams play slightly harder in a couple of games, it would still be a step in the right direction. And if this does well, they'll surely increase the incentives.

There are only two drawbacks, as far as I can see:

- A very minor one, with two teams from the Final Four playing a "home game" in Vegas (although I'm sure those tickets will sell just fine)

- The championship game is added to the 82. Assuming it involves some top contenders (not just 7-10 seeds like for the play-in), losing a star player there would be a bummer. But then again, injuries can also happen during practice, pick-up or bathroom breaks.

Now let's defeat our Nuggets/Pelicans demons and go get this NBA Cup!

Winning is good. Winning begets winning.

Saving it for the playoffs is BS. L-Frank is right. The regular season DOES matter. You just can't flip a switch and get smarter, tougher, faster, harder. The Nuggets owe a lot of their title to their winning the #1 seed. Not just the playoff matchups, but coming in as a well-oiled fighting machine.

I don't understand the point. I promise all of you I won't care the slightest if we are "mid-season tournament champs."

Just seems like another good way for one of our guys to get hurt.

The “tournament pools” not being the actual divisions just shows that divisions are meaningless and should not exist.

I love mid season cups like the US Open, and various Euro futbol leagues...but this isn't a cup, this is a waste of time

Those cups are fire because you can have semi pro sides upset pro teams....this is just...a gimmick
