Andrei Kirilenko with better offense? Big wingspan; athletic like young Anthony Davis. I think he's like 6'8" or 6'9" now. I wonder if he might still grow a little more.

What's that, AAU or highschool? I watched a couple of videos and he looked awesome but the competition seemed to be some little kids. Maybe they were older videos, not sure

It's Maine, speaking as someone from near there. It's likely a school that specializes in picking blueberries.
That said, FLAGS RAISED for this prosepct! Am I right?!

He could be that white American white star that NBA was waiting for since Larry Bird.

Re: Next big prospect Copper Flagg
To add some context to all this. Flagg and Cameron Boozer (Carlos son) have been viewed at the two best players in high school for a year now and they both just finished their Sophomore year’s.
Flagg is an elite defensive prospect, last year at 15 years old in the U17 World Cup Final he finished with 17 rebounds, 8 steals and 4 blocks.
Just two weeks ago he was named the NBA Top 100 camp MVP. That’s viewed as one of the more legit competitions for the elite high schoolers.
The stats he is putting up the last week have been at Peach Jam. So his performance there has been incredible. Doing things they’ve never seen done there. But it is an AAU event and it is the U16 section of it. Guys like him and Boozer should probably be playing up to the oldest age level even though they’re playing guys their age right now.
With that said Flagg will be playing Boozer today in the championship if anyone wants to watch the two best high school players go at it.

Being in a crap bball state makes evaluating hard
Harrison Barnes was getting hyped like he was Kobe and he capped out as a useful 5th starter

That’s not what this is. Flagg’s team is from Maine but this is Peach Jam. It’s the biggest AAU event of the year. It’s the best AAU teams from around the country. He is going up against the Boozer twins for the 2nd time this week and they’re from Florida.
Plus Flagg doesn’t play his high school ball in Maine. He plays down in Florida for Montverde which is the best high school team in the country and plays as hard as a schedule as any high school team. Flagg has also been a standout in international play as well.

He just had a big triple double at the Peach Jam, where they have schools from all over the country.

You better have 38, 10, and 10 in Maine if you want to make the NBA

Re: Next big prospect Copper Flagg
his perimeter scoring is not as good as the highlights make it look, and hes playing against u16 instead of 17 comp. that being said, hes smart, great motor and has shown great improvement from a last seen him. I dont think he should play anymore hs basketball at all. G league would be the best place for him so hes not just dominating smaller players. his athleticism allows him to bail out his developing skillset too much here.

Well, I guess you can't argue with USA basketball results, but maybe you can nowadays? This kid should be on Real Madrid like Luka was, but he still locked 3 years to play highschool.

If he re-classifies, he can come out in 2025.UcanUwill wrote:Well, I guess you can't argue with USA basketball results, but maybe you can nowadays? This kid should be on Real Madrid like Luka was, but he still locked 3 years to play highschool.

Which basically everyone expects him to at this point. He will be as young of a prospect as you can basically get in a class once he reclassifies. But ya must expect that to happen at some point. He will likely be heading to college or Ignite this time next year.

Apparently he plays for Monteverdi in FL, one of the best basketball schools in the nation. It seems like he was recruited out of Maine like Ben Simmons was recruited out of Australia.

Anybody surprised the NBA’s official yt channel is promoting high school players now? Seems the league wants to have their cake and eat it too by not lowering the age limit though
