I do think the 4 1st teams All-NBA are weirdly not talked about as something impressive.

Here are guys with 4 1st teams for their career : Curry, Garnett, Nowitzki, CP3, D-Rob, Havlicek, Moses, Frazier…

Luka is 24. Only 26 guys have 5 or more as of right now.

All that is meaningless without a title with the Mavs.

As a huge Euoroleague fan I will say - Euroleague accomplishments means very very little for the Hall of fame, basically zero of it matters, you can take those entirely. Maybe you get in a hall with one Eurobasket medal and few NBA teams buts not a lock.

In fairness many people felt they weren't deserved. This past season was a perfect example. How many guys on bad to mediocre teams make all nba 1st team or even 2nd team?

None of it matters. He is same situation as Embiid, Tatum & Booker. The same situation Jokic was in until this past season. We don't care about that regular season stuff. We are waiting on a championship.

“They”? I don’t think anyone argued against the 1st 3. The last one was discussed because of team record. Still, it was his best season individually, so certainly not undeserved.

Championships are a team award. I wish more people understood the concept. I think that they will as it gets harder and harder to win multiple championships with more player movement and more parity.

If no one cares about the RS stuff, they should just not give any trophy. They should just cancel the RS.

You are part of the problem and then probably complain that guys are sitting the RS.

The RS should matter a great deal as it’s 93-94% of a season in terms of game played and every player plays it. Stop being part of the problem with the championship or bust mentality.

Steph Curry in 2021, AD with NOP.
All of the 1st 3 are deserved, only the last one is really questionable.

You have said that numerous times here before, but the data does not support your claim. There are indeed players in the Basketball Hall of Fame, based primarily on their EuroLeague career.

Of course it's not just that, but it's everything basketball related for all players. But there are definitely guys in the HOF based mostly on EuroLeague play. One that really stands out is Dino Meneghin, who made 80% of his name strictly on EuroLeague. Galis was known 80% for his EuroLeague career and he is in. Radivoj Korac is in and he's probably 50/50 known for EuroLeague.

Aldo Ossola is a candidate, and he was known almost exclusively for EuroLeague. Alphonso Ford is a candidate, and he was known just for NCAA and EuroLeague, but mostly EuroLeague. Tal Brody is a candidate, and he was known for NCAA and EuroLeague, but mostly for EuroLeague, etc.

So it's not true that EuroLeague means nothing to the Hall of Fame.

Luka is. The only comparison I can make for Rose is Walton but Walton probably accomplished as much in a two year span as humanly possible for a player. Not to mention the college resume tremendously helps him out. Unfortunately for Rose he literally has one year as an elite player and it's looking like he's going to be the only MVP not to make the HOF. His MVP was always weird to me not because he won it but how the voting wasn't even close and also how he jumped from not making an All-NBA team to the MVP in the next season.

He's the definition of an empty stat player:

He got 32.4 points per game last year.
8.6 rebounds.
8.0 assists.

That totals 49 RAPs per game.

Mavs had 38 wins last year.

That equates to .78 WINS per RAP.

A true hall of famer like Jokic got 43.7 RAPs per game and 53 wins last year.

That works out to 1.21 WINS per RAP.

Luka is more on the scale of Kevin Love than Jokic based on this detailed statistical analysis.

Luka is not playing for HOF.

Luka is playing for top 20 All time.
