Who does DLo get traded for at the deadline

Post#1 » by Godymas » Fri Oct 27, 2023 4:57 pm

I mean this guy is such a freaking bum. it's not even funny how awful he is. he hasn't missed a step since last season, 12.5 ppg in 2 games shooting 35% FG and 25% from 3 on 6 attempts a game. He's taking more shots than points this season. He's absolutely horrible and it's disgusting that the Lakers have DLo with LeBron and AD.

He makes $17 million this year, trade machine says he can't be traded..yet but I'm assuming his contract is 100% tradeable by the deadline because there is no way the Lakers FO would be dumb enough to lock themselves into DLo for a whole year. How much does Schroder make? The Lakers prioritized DLo instead of paying Schroder? I cannot believe DLo actually makes more money than Dennis Schroder because I'm pretty sure 9/10 teams would reasonably prefer Schroder over DLo.

Personally I'd like to see if there is a way to get DeMar DeRozan over to the Lakers. The Lakers need another playmaker and what DeMar did during his time in San Antonio was improve his playmaking ability. The problem is that the money doesn't quite add up between the two of them. I am not sure if the Lakers can make-up the $10 million in salary without potentially giving up someone they want to hold onto. Trade machine currently doesn't work for DLo so it's hard to really tell.

Maybe the Lakers ship out DLo and Rui together to get back DeMar and Caruso? Maybe throw in a Jalen Hood and Max Christie to make the money work? It feels like this would be the perfect trade for LA to keep their window open.

No reason for CHI to downgrade without incentive.

LAL would need to add picks.

You need to find a tanking team and add draft picks maybe the wizards and Tyus Jones... Salarys are close...

Poole and Russell will be excellent tank commanders.

I thought he's played well? Much improved defense and communication. He's just missing wide open jumpers but has been a good three point shooter in his career. He's going to be great for LA in the regular season.

If I ran this site I would block new threads from being created other than game threads until at least 15 games into the season.

Russell, Hachimura, Vanderbilt, multiple seconds for Kyrie.

He will probably land in Dallas, if the Mavs don't do really well. If they look like a borderline team, Kyrie could create drama and force a trade to the Lakers.

For everyone saying Dallas, there is a 0% chance that Mark Cuban helps out the Lakers and takes the poo-poo platter that they try and sell for Kyrie. Lakers are stuck with him

DLo is one of those guys who have a poor posture, poor body language, moving relatively slowly and weirdly on the court and looking like the turnover is coming any second now, he also make some strange decisions and amusing turnovers. But he still is a well above average nba player when you look at the relevant metrics.

When DLo's teams are losing, he's always the scapegoat, while when his teams are winning, he's not getting the praise for his contributions. This imo is exactly because his game looks like it shouldn't be effective, even when it is.

The visual issues of casuals with DLo resemble those that the casuals had with Jokic, but the issue is that DLo is like a top 50-80 player in the league by metrics unlike Jokic, so he'll never be able to overcome the scapegoat role.

Well he'll be a lot easier to trade than Westbrook at least. He also waived his NTC during the summer so maybe he knows he's going to be traded at some point. Not sure about the salaries but I can see him going for Malcom Brogdon or in a larger package for Kyrie or Harden (if a deal isn't done by that time).

Jerami Grant maybe? Though given the amount of guards Portland has that seems unlikely. Maybe Harden? I don't know. Not sure anyone really wants D-Lo, not like he's an expiring contract or anything

He's a minutes eater during the regular season. He's unplayable in the PO's which is why he was benched. I can't imagine any contender wanting him.

Maybe Minnesota could use him but that's the only team I can think of
