Game 7: Celtics @ Sixers 11/8 @ 7 pm ET Our First Real Test Thread

Post#1 » by Embiid P » Wed Nov 8, 2023 4:35 pm

Can we make it 6 in a row tonight? Match-up on paper is tough with all of the stretch bigs they have, but I guess we can't mess with a good thing until it no longer works. Would like to see Biid guard the Zinger rather than Horford.

Hopefully Biid and Rese don't play like cheeks tonight like they typically do vs. the Cs.

All in all, I'm glad we're getting them early in the season since all of our games against them are pre-trade deadline I believe and 3 of the 4 will be by early December so we'll have a fairly good idea as to where we stand with them.

They lost their first real test against Milwaukee.

I'm interested to see how the Celtics guard Embiid. Our bench should pay dividends tonight.

Meh, it was their first game under Nurse and they still had the Harden bs hanging over their heads as a distraction. Plus Biid always starts the season slow so I'm willing to throw that one away.

How was their real test against the bucks. Embiid not in game shape, first game with new coach , no Harden or trade returns.

Vs Now against the Celtic who has the best east record, ultimate rival team, sixers now having wing depth and the 76ers are on a win streak.

Because Milwaukee is supposed to be one of the top 2 teams in the league.

Embiid not in game shape? Sometimes the excuses for this guy are way out of hand. So everyone else in the league is in game shape for game 1, except the league MVP. We're gonna give him a pass.

New coach? Milwaukee had a first time ever head coach.

Harden trade returns? We got a bunch of dudes who are at the end of their careers simply to match salary and are expiring. Martin averaged 5 points for the Clippers. Covington 3 points. Batum 2.7 points. Morris didn't play a game.

It would be very surprising to me if we won. We are a good vibes team but the rosters are quite unmatched. I'm most interested tonight to see proof of concept of Oubre's defense on their wings.

I will literally be doing colonoscopy prep during this game so I pray to the basketball gods to a least give me a big Sixers win to enjoy.

I agree on the game shape. He has no excuse this off-season although looks like it took one game.

Good luck, hopefully it's not the Sixers getting bent over.

Hope you have a bidet! And if you miss any of the game, you'll probably be up most of the night to watch it again. I actually found the fasting to be the worst part.

I just hope that if the Sixers lose tonight that it's not the "we're done" doom and gloom here, although I'm sure the usual suspects will emerge from under their rocks. This is still a work in progress, and certainly not a finished product.

Now that we both agree that Milwaukee was their first real test we can move onto the Celtics.

I mean we all can dislike that he wasn't in gameshape but it doesn't take away from the fact that he wasn't. He has ramped up pretty quickly this season though.
