An out of box question: Should we go after LeBron in the offseason?

Post#1 » by MasterGMer » Sun Dec 24, 2023 3:16 am

LeBron recently questioned the Hall of Fame selection for players. And I think he is right. If Coaches can get into Hall of Fame when coaching, why not players when playing? And LeBron could be the first player to do so if they change the rules

But let me get to my point: LeBron has a player option after this season and he has repeatedly said he wants to play with his son Bronny James.

I know Bronny's stats doesn't look so fancy right now averaging 5 ppg and 2.7 rebs per game plus 1 assists per game. But he only played 15 minutes per game. Bronny had Cardiac Arrest this summer and he is cleared to play right now.

I think Orlando Magic in this upcoming draft could very likely draft in the late teens and early 20s range. Should we draft Bronny to lure LeBron James?

I know many of you think LeBron is old and not as good as before. But heck, LeBron is averaging 25.2 ppg, 7.7 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game. Plus he just won the in season tournament MVP

Just think about this, if we have LeBron next season and he is 80% and 90% of himself right now. He could be huge for this Magic team.

Paolo can play the 5 and LeBron can play the 4 while Franz plays the 3. Man, that lineup is good.

But it is an out of the box question. Right now, it is still a long shot since we do not know LeBron's interest in Orlando. But it is certainly doable.

Merry Christmas, Magic fans! We beat Pacers before Christmas Eve. Great Win. And I just want to add some excitement to our RealGM fans. That is what fans do, right? Have a good one!

There is absolute zero chance this happens. But its fun to imagine.

ONLY way this happens is if we draft Bronny.

He already said he doesn’t like Orlando, why would we pursue him?

Will Paolo be willing to play the 5 with LBJ and Franz?

Isaac fits better with his length! We could have Franz at the 2, Black at the one and JI, Paolo and LeBron in the front court.

Also LBJ and his son playing here would create a huge media buzz for us!

Realistically we have other team needs but we could put them on hold because LeBron would probably sign a short term deal .

LBJ takes his off-the-charts BBIQ right into the PG slot and let’s the young bucks bang around in the paint until he gets a wild hair every once in a while to remind everyone what he can still do when he wants to. He could realistically lead the league in assists any time he decides to - like Wilt. Basically, he can do whatever he wants on a basketball court.

But no.

It would be awesome. Draft Bronny and get him. Lebron,Suggs,Franz,Banchero,Goga -> Victory. But I think he will go to Las Vegas.

Lebron’s still one of the absolute best in the league, but the guys trashed the city here on a few occasions. I have no interest in Bronny whatsoever so I’d pass on this scenario entirely.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.
