Pistons continue to be the worst run franchise in this league. Another Troy Weaver masterclass.

Lol wut? OK. I mean Marvin is trash, I guess this gives Detroit more veteran leadership? Idk. They still gonna be bad.

Can Gallo and Muscala still play? They're not getting time with the Wiz. But even their corpses can't be worse than Livers and Bagley, not sure it's worth 2 second round picks though.

Bagley makes 12.5 Mill in salary this year and next.

This is a pure salary dump. I still don’t get it. But that’s what it is.

Livers has a strong case as the worst player in the NBA. The second rounders have the most value here so I guess the Wizards win the trade.

Marvin Bagley is 24 by the way, and he is in this trade... If Vlade knew...

Woj confirmed. Pistons get expirings and move off of Bagley’s contract. Get more capspace in the offseason. Depends on the 2nds but they haven’t even drafted that well. It’s not a bad move imo

A somewhat puzzling trade for Detroit, but I can see what they were going for. They’re just about the worst 3 point shooting team in the league, in terms of takes & makes. You get back a career 37.5% 3pt shooter and a career 38% 3pt shooter. Bagley isn’t bringing any kind of meaningful production and Livers doesn’t look like an NBA player (on paper anyway, can’t say I’ve seen a ton of him).

I guess the only thing questionable is the two second round picks.

What is the point of extra 12 mil in off season when you in position like Detroit. At least second rounders provide slightest of chance you acquire anything good for the future. Now they can make FA run for some role player veteran, so next season they win more than single digit games? Superstar is not going to this Detroit team through FA. I would have kept Bagley and just draft somebody hoping I just get lucky.
Maybe they opening cap space for other trade? Otherwise, doesnt make sense to me

pretty non-consequential trade but i like it. they got off of bagley's $12.5M next year and add more veterans. gallo and muscala are washed at this point but at least they have experience.

Seems like it's basically the Pistons getting out of Bagley's contract.

You really assume they make a trade for playing purposes? This has to be something else. They probably waive those guys anyway.

Theoretically they can absorb bad contracts for assets a la OKC, but they haven't been doing that (just more mismanagement). All they got was a protected future 2nd for taking on Joe Harris, for example.
