Heat/Raptors

Post#1 » by Bruin » Sat Jan 20, 2024 8:44 pm

Miami trades: Lowry, Jovic, 2027 FRP
Toronto trades: Schroder, Boucher

Gives the Raptors a young player to add to their young core and a future pick. Brings Lowry home so he can retire a Raptor and can mentor some of the young guys (especially IQ and Scottie)

Gives the Heat a solid PG to run with and a stretch big for the bench.

I don't have the Raptors players worth Jovic or a 1st and that's dismissing Lowry as just matching salary even though Dennis is not an upgrade on him.

This feels really bad for Miami and can't see why they consider this. I don't think they do it without Jovic or the pick even.

Yeah, I don’t see Miami wanting the Boucher/Jovic swap, Jovic is going to be the better player (if he’s not already?) and is cheaper.

The Dennis/Lowry swap would probably be worth something due to the financial savings this year. But it’s not worth a distant first.

Its the Heat who needs to be compensated with this trade instead.

We don't. Have no need for GTJr and Schroeder costs money next year when we want to get further away from the tax. On top of that, you take our starting power forward.

I'm just not feeling it...

No idea but I can't see the first plan being Dennis Schroeder...

10-12M under the tax, not a ton of decent PGs available to fit in that space. I guess Tyus Jones for the MLE would make sense if he doesn't get a better offer, or he wants to start on a title team.

I wouldn't even give just Jovic to these two. As if that wasn't enough, we give FRP lol
