Not that I want USA to win, but a good way for the US to combat the continuity the other countries have had with their lineups would be to select all four of them and play them together with a suitable centre. A good way for the Celts to trial Embiid and Bam prior to them asking for a trade to us too.

You make a good point. Most Country-Teams have been playing with each other for years.
US always starts with a large pool, and whittles it down.

True.

Would be rough on the Celtics in the early months of the next season, however. Little time off between the Finals and the Olympics, then not that much time off before the next season either.

There's also an age issue -- how many tournaments is that group good for?

I'm quite happy if they don't play any of them personally, better for Celtics and worse for USA. Win/win.

Mixed feelings on this. On one hand I love the confidence and the media needs to terms with the fact that LeBron, KD and Steph aren’t what they once were. How many playoff games did those 3 win this year? On the other hand Ant does a lot of talking for a guy who hasn’t won much. Does this lead to some in fighting on the team? It likely doesn’t matter and we win gold regardless but fun little story to watch unfold.

I’m a garbage human being, but I wouldn’t mind them not winning gold just to add insult to injury on Embiid not being able to win anything. Tatum and Jrue already got theirs.
