Were some teams wrong not to buy??

I will throw my team out. Orlando Magic.

deficiencies:
PG play
outside shooting

have multiple expiring contracts, own all their own 1st rounders, a first from Denver, a first from PHX/Wash, 5 2nd round picks. Yet very little buzz heard about the team trying to tweak the team or make a move as they try and make the playoffs. No interest in Murray? Jones? Sexton?

anyone else have a team that should have looked to add but didnt?

Lakers? Hawks?

I think some teams were wrong not to sell particularly with 3&D players (Caruso, DFS, Bruce Brown). These teams aren't contenders and it's hard to imagine these guys become more valuable as time passes

I don't think you trade guys for less than they're worth just because you're not contenders. Keep in mind, a lot of the discussions that happen at the deadline can get executed at the draft or in the new league year when more draft capital, more roster spaces & potentially more cap space is available to make deals.

The biggest problem now is that too many win now contenders have already shot their shot, and did not have many assets to move. This summer, they'll have at least one more pick at their disposal. There's also "new contenders" that seem to be weary of going all in prematurely like Atlanta did after their surprise Conference Finals appearance. I think if teams like OKC, Minnesota and Cleveland show well in the playoffs, they'll become more aggressive this offseason. If they fizzle out early, they'll take the conservative approach.

Lastly, I think most teams are still wading slowly into the harsh restrictions of the new CBA. They're holding tight on picks & adding large/long salary until they're more comfortable navigating life under the new agreement.

I would have liked the Wolves to be a little more aggressive in trading Kyle Anderson and bringing in more shooting. Also dumping Moore for cap space and trying to find a buyout or project player. Christian Koloko might have been a good flier, (if he would come to Minnesota, we have a pretty full big man rotation.)
