your future 2nd(s) for the Blazers 2024 2nds (34/40)
The Blazers have 4 picks in this year's draft, and not enough open roster spots.
Someone's going to get one or both of those 2nds on draft night, so what team is it going to be?
My suspect:
Brooklyn is entirely out of this year's draft, but also a team that desperately needs rookies. I can see a 2 for 1 (they have a few Memphis future 2nds that likely project to be mid to late 2nd round) for 34.

Re: your future 2nd(s) for the Blazers 2024 2nds (34/40)
I'd love for Dallas to take the 25 TOR 2nd(projected to be top 40) plus a future 2nd to get a high 2nd from a team like Portland or Utah that already has too many picks.
So I guess my offer is 25 TOR 2nd + 28 MIA 2nd for 34.

There’s a trade with Kings for Jerami Grant + #34
Something like #13 pick and future 2nds plus salary.

I think if you want to make a trade down the road those future 2nds are worth more to other teams

Yeah this is a good point. This would presume Dallas had a player in the draft they liked -- the way they did Hardy 2 years ago. Otherwise you are right, better for Dallas to hold on to those to juice minor deadline adds.
Good call.

And OP, This is what in expect to happen on draft night. A bigger deal like one with Grant listed above is ideal, but less likely. Alternatively, the 2nds are used in a player swap that results in financial savings for Portland.

If PORT wants some financial savings and flexibility
they send the Bulls
Robert Williams III
and their 2 2nd round picks
in exchange for the right and protections of their own pick through 2028.
Portland sheds some salary, can find a cheaper backup for Ayton, start Murray at the 4. With their pick back in their hands they can include future pick in a Grant trade and draft a low cost pick this year.
Bulls get a PF, so they can move on from Demar DeRozan and resign Patrick Williams to play the SF. They have rarely had any 2nd round picks and could use a couple for the end of the bench/G League

I think I disagree? Selfishly I want those 2 picks because young talent is fun. But Dallas’s ability to trade 2 picks in the top 40 in the offseason feels very valuable no?

the MIA 2nd is unlikely to be top 40

Fair. But I’m looking at those 2 picks as a package deal to make another Williams to Washington level upgrade this summer. And I think those top picks will be comfortably less than 10 spots apart.

This is supposed to be a draft that lacks star players but is deep in role players.
On a team that won 21 games, how can anyone say Portland lacks open roster spots?

New GM in place, but the Hornets have consolidated second round picks frequently in recent drafts, trading up for James Nnaji (31), then stashing him.
There should be some attrition with former second round picks JT Thor and Bryce McGowens who both bombed their extended auditions.
Pick 34 conveys from the Hornets. The Hornets own Blazers 2027 second round pick. How about Hornets trade 2027 Blazers 2nd round pick for 2024 pick 34 (originally Charlotte).
Hornets could include pick 42 (Rockets) which the Blazers can use on a 2-way contract.

Re: your future 2nd(s) for the Blazers 2024 2nds (34/40)
I like Chuck’s idea best so far honestly. Maybe it’s the only idea that goes with OP request.
So I’ll try..
34 to Boston for the 2026 second and a 2027 second
The 2026 looks to be … 2026 second round draft pick from Minnesota, New York, New Orleans or Portland (most favorable) Boston gets to fill two of their few own roster spots with 30 and 40.
Minnesota already has 27 and 37, but they’re also already very expensive and could put another rookie on the bench really.. they own Utah’s 2025 second. So that and and a 2026 second (they own two. And both are pretty complicated, could be 2031 instead if you want?) for 34?
We know Morey has cap space dreams and will have a lot of roster spots to fill almost no matter which way they choose to go..
2027 Milwaukee, 2027 Philly, for 34?
Maybe all of those should be for 40. Or maybe cash to make it 34. Who knows.

i'd rather just trade two future 2nds. We're not going to be hurting for roster spots this year now that we've kind of established we only have Ball, Mark, Miller, Grant, Mann, Micic, NSJ, and our 1st (that's 8 players, and if Bridges comes back it's 9) as obviously roster-able players. Nobody else would be missed if they were waived tomorrow. Richards and Martin won't, because they're guaranteed money, but still. I'd happily have 2 2nds this year and hope our new coaching staff is capable of caring about anyone outside the top 8 on the roster.

9 plus Richards + Martin + lottery pick + 34 puts us at 13. At that point, the remaining roster spot would boil down to FA vs. Thor & Bryce. That's not including Nnaji.
The front office consolidated to move up for Devonte' Graham, JT Thor, Bryce McGowens & Nnaji.
I can see the pattern repeating.

the lotto pick was included in the 9. Seth and Poku are probably getting waived. The same wouldn't surprise me with Bryce or even Thor (though I think Thor deserves another year). I think Nick gets pawned off onto a team that sees a 7'0 guy that can run without realizing he's horrific at actual basketball. Bertans obv doesn't get his full contract and is either cut or traded for a similar $5M deadweight.
That leaves us with Ball, Mark, Miller, Grant, Mann, Micic, NSJ, Martin, [Thor?], our 1st, Houston's 2nd (we often use picks in the 40s for two-way contracts). I still think as it stands, we head into FA with 10 players on guaranteed contracts, at most. It's a non-issue this year, unlike the previous two years where we were at least fooled by the "potential" on a few of our fringe talents.
