What's your teams best offer for Donovan Mitchell?

Post#1 » by CIN-C-STAR » Wed May 15, 2024 6:36 pm

Reportedly multiple teams are preparing "huge offers" for Mitchell.
Let's say that he's told your favorite team he will resign on a max deal if you trade for him. Who's your team and what's the best offer you think they should make?

Not worth what he would cost. He sure hasn't helped the Cavs much. And he misses alot of games.

For reference the Cavs gave up -

Unprotected FRPs in 2025, 2027, 2029
Unprotected swaps in 2026 and 2028

Lauri Markkanen
Collin Sexton
Ochai Agbaji

Danny Ainge is a bad human being.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Nothing from POR; he needs to go to a contender not a bottom feeder.

D'lo would have to agree to opt in for that to happen, and I don't see him opting in just to get traded to Cleveland. Besides I doubt they want to add two more guards.

Other teams might have better packages but this works on espn trade machine.

Jazz have been happy with Lauri and have refurbished Sexton too. Now we own their draft for 5 years. Jazz have known all along that Mitchell wants to be in NY or Miami.

Teams will offer less then, although in the case of the Lakers I think they'd trade Reaves anyway and hope they can re-sign him.

I think Donovan's plan is (or at least was) to go to Miami and play with Bam. I thought Jaylen Brown might join them as well before he signed his big extension.

They do but it would have to be 2026 and on. Like the Durant trade Suns are giving Nets picks until 2029.

i don't agree with that. He's been pretty good in the playoffs so far and won the Cavs several games.

We'd definitely give up stuff for Mitchell if presented the opportunity. Anyone on our roster other than Shaedon is on the table imo. Probably wouldn't trade Scoot either because it's too early but if we're getting Mitchell in return why not.

No way Cleveland is giving up Wade. And they are going to demand that Bridges be included in the trade.

I agree that he isn't worth what it cost to get him out of Cleveland but to say he hasn't helped that much is disingenuous. He helped the team get over the hump and into the playoffs that first year. Then this season along with Allen kept the regular season alive when Mobley and Garland missed time and everybody thought the team was going to sellers at the deadline. You also cant overlook how important it was for the franchise to win their first playoff series win without LeBron since 93' where he was downright sensational.

He doesn't fit in Toronto so I won't use my team but I think the Lakers should obviously be trying to throw everything to Cleveland to bring in him in vs Trae. The issue being Garland is just flat out better than Reaves and D'Lo so it's all a moot point. I don't really see any other contending teams where'd he both fit and have the necessary assets to entice Cleveland. I think the Cavs and Mitchell roll the dice again next season with eachother.
