Where did Lebron rank all time after his 2 Miami championships?

Post#1 » by PassMeTheBall » Mon May 27, 2024 8:04 pm

I think this is the point of contention on where one ranks him all time. If one values his Miami rings in really high regard he was likely already in your top 5 after 2013. If you view his Miami move as weak & think his Miami championships aren't that great legacy wise I could see him being near the bottom of the top 10 at the time or even slightly outside of it. Was he already top 5 to you after 2013? Top 10? Higher or lower?

Where do you think he ranked all time after his 2013 season when he won his 2nd Miami championship?

LeBron was consensus Top 15 after the 2013 ring. Top 10 after 2016 and Top 5 after 2020. Of course, many had him Top 5 after 2016 itself.

To people who understood basketball? He was the GOAT, provided he added a touch more longevity.

1st or 2nd all time it’s always been what does bron have to do to be number 1 all time with LeBron

Or third with those people that was like “LeBron hasn’t even passed Kobe”

He was top ten already after the 2013 ring. 2016 is what cemented his place in history as a top five all time great.

His insane playoff run in 2018, additional rings and additional records are why he’s reached goat status.

You can tell the lebron james fans are desperate for attention for him. Its the conference finals and we keep seeing threads about the guy. They cant even wait for the offseason. Sad.

I find it hilarious.

Overcompensation since they know in the long haul, he won’t be remembered as they wish
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o

I think the end of that season was when I moved him to #10 all time.

Top 5 at that point would’ve been highly dubious, i’d argue almost impossible to argue. The top 100 list on this site done in 2014 didn’t even have him top 5.

LeBron was top 10 in 2009 without any rings just from pure talent and skills/athletism.

2012-2014 back to back championship made him Top 5 minimum. 2016 made him the greatest of all time!

2020 was just the cherry on top

If he wins another championship at age 40 being the #1 or #2 option in this era with Jokic, Luka, SGA... The discussion will be closed and MJ will be clear #2 behind LeBron. If LeBron wins back to back at 40 and 41yrs old with still dominate numbers, well he will be in another starsophere vs the other players..

We will see, he has 3 seasons to finish his Legacy in a strong way or simply just coast to the sunset
Bronny will become Murray 2.0

You try to discredit his championships and then claim he was still outside the top ten after four MVPs and back to back championships while coming off of one of the most dominant seasons of all time. Troll post if I’ve ever seen one before.

Now, with that said, I’ll give you this: I also don’t see the point of this thread at this point in the season.

You're definitely mistaken. If anything my takes on Lebron get criticized by his diehard fans.

Nobody should ever be ranked purely on talent/skills. Body of work and actual results matter.

No it wasn’t a lock, and I’d argue that even despite winning two championships there was still some questions about his playoff resilience in an all time sense after the 2nd championship. At that point he underperformed in the playoffs like 3/5 seasons between 2010-2014. I do think the 2016-2018 seasons put that to rest for good though.
