Sacramento gets Bruce Brown (post Monk resign)
So based on the Monk resign, the other thread indicated an interest in Bruce Brown. Here’s a trade that may spin out.
There’s a few variations to this, depending on whether Barnes or Huerter gets traded. Huerter is probably higher value than Barnes now, but also more expendable for Sacramento.
I think a Huerter trade is more likely given SACs need in the front court. With Fox, Monk, Brown, and Ellis, you’re at 48 mins of PG-SG. SAC could also get Boucher as a backup 4/5 if needed, by exercising and trading Duarte/Davion, who are now expendable due to tax and minutes considerations.
Version 1:
Brown, Boucher, #19
for
Huerter, Sasha, Duarte, Davion, #13, POR ‘25 2nd
Version 2:
Brown, #19, Boucher
for
Harrison Barnes, #13, Duarte, Davion, POR ‘25 2nd
Assuming Version 1:
Fox / Monk
Brown / Ellis
Murray / (MLE) / #19
Barnes / Lyles
Sabonis / Boucher / (vet)

Re: Sacramento gets Bruce Brown (post Monk resign)
Post Monk signing Brown holds no interest to me and I think that’d be the same for the Kings.
Sac needs to focus all efforts on a PF that fits with Sabonis and long wings (can’t beat the Pels…become the Pels).

Re: Sacramento gets Bruce Brown (post Monk resign)
I think simple is best.
Huerter, filler, 13
for
Brown, 19
Add 2nds as needed. Sacramento keeps Barnes who is, IMO, a better player, and perfectly reasonable filler in a trade. An interesting question might be if there is a nice follow-up to complete their roster with Barnes + 19?

I don’t think Sac has any interest in that post Monk.

That makes sense. How about:
Huerter, Sasha, Davion, 13
for
Brown, 19
Davion won’t play much and is up for an extension. Sasha is meh, contract clearing for tax purposes to open up the MLE.

13 is off the table for that package now that Sac has Monk. Personally I wouldn’t trade Huerter for Brown straight up giving the current situation.
Sac now has other interests. Guards they don’t need.

Maybe not, but I do think it makes them pretty nice:
Sabonis
Barnes/Murray
Murray/Brown
Brown/Monk
Fox/Mitchell
Everyone can shoot, dribble, and pass. Follow that up by adding the right power forward w/Sabonis (to replace Barnes) and I think the team is quite a bit more interesting.

I think Babyjax idea is to do a follow up. Maybe with Jerami Grant? Eg Harrison Barnes, 19, POR ‘2nd

Ah, yes, he should be starting at shooting guard. I still think there are enough minutes that an upgrade to Brown from Huerter is meaningful but YMMV and obviously depends on what the market looks like.

Imagine the J Grant follow up w/ Portland: Barnes, 19, POR ‘25 2nd.
Now you have a complete team with defense in the starting lineup.
Sabonis
Grant/Lyles
Murray/(Brown)
Brown/Ellis/(Monk)
Fox/Monk

Kings don’t need Brown now. They go to Portland with the 13 and salaries and make an offer for Grant +.

Yeah I think the Brown ship has sailed and the Kings weren't putting in anything more than Huerter regardless. The #13 will either be selected and kept or selected and traded for a wing/PF.
Unfortunately I think it will be Grant or Kuzma.

Yeah I'd like to see the Kings target Grant/thybulle or go to Utah and swing for a home run with Markannen.

Re: Sacramento gets Bruce Brown (post Monk resign)
Bruce Brown is not the solution to every team.....
I have both of these as overpays and too expensive for the Kings.

I'd rather have Huerter on his deal over an expiring Brown.
Which means that the pick(s) make absolutely no sense to me.
