The Orlando Magic's interest in signing Klay Thompson may be getting a little overstated. Orlando does have interest in Thompson, but on a more limited basis than some of the speculation.
The Magic reportedly would offer Thompson an enhanced version of the contract they gave Joe Ingles last summer. Ingles signed a two-year, $22 million contract, with a team option for the second season. Orlando is willing to give Thompson a similar shot-term contract, presumably for more money. Thompson is reportedly seeking a long-term deal this summer.
The Magic project to have nearly $50 million in cap space to spend this summer. That puts Orlando in place to make major moves this summer to bolster a young roster that made the playoffs last season.
