CHA - SAC

Post#1 » by bpcox05 » Fri Jun 21, 2024 9:29 pm

—————————

CHA Gets: Kevin Huerter, Sasha Vezenkov, Chris Duarte, & 2025 POR 2nd
CHA Gives: Grant Williams, Cody Martin, & Aleksej Pokusevski
Why for CHA? Huerter gives them a buy low candidate that they could flip at the deadline or next offseason for more assets (similar to how they took on Williams to flip him later/in this trade). As added incentive, they acquire a likely early 2nd during the strong 2025 draft. This trade also clears a bit of long term salary since Vezenkov and Duarte are expiring and Huerter has 2 years on his deal.

PG - Ball / Mann / Micic
SG - Huerter / Smith / Curry
SF - Miller / Duarte / McGowens
PF - Vezenkov / Bertans / Thor
C - Williams / Richards

—————————

SAC Gets: Grant Williams, Cody Martin, & Aleksej Pokusevski
SAC Gives: Kevin Huerter, Sasha Vezenkov, Chris Duarte, & 2025 POR 2nd
Why for SAC? This trade shaves almost $6 mil off their payroll which helps them avoid the 1st apron but it also gives them a 3&D forward to either start next to Murray or come off the bench behind Murray and Barnes. Martin gives them an interesting deep bench option.

PG - Fox / Mitchell
SG - Ellis / Monk / Jones
SF - Murray / Barnes / Martin
PF - Williams / Lyles / Poku
C - Sabonis

It’s mainly about acquiring an early 2nd and another youngish reclamation project (Huerter) to flip later. Vezenkov and Duarte are basically filler.

Not a chance for Grant Williams. Poku is the only player of interest TBH.

I believe we’re going to need these contracts for more pertinent reasons coming up

I saw a wire article saying Sac had previously shown interest in Bridges. No way to know how true that is but I don’t know how well Bridges in Sac would work, and not for on court reasons.

Charlotte needs a player like Grant Williams. He's underrated on this board becuase of the way he left the Mavs, but he's the same player as PJ Washington and still a decent role player/enforcer off the bench. Also want to give Poku a fair shot this season
