The Utah Jazz are not necessarily interested in trading Lauri Markkanen, but they could listen to offers for him if they also decide to take a step back in hopes of maximizing their odds of having a top pick in the 2025 NBA draft.
"Their goal has been to bring in players around Markkanen," said Adrian Wojnarowski. "But there are a lot of teams looking at that 2025 draft next season. It could be a historic draft, especially at the top. Brooklyn made a decision they're going to be at the top of the draft next year. Utah hasn't made that decision. But I think Markkanen is an interesting inflection point for them. But I don't think it's their intention to move him."
Markkanen could sign an extension this offseason, or he will be an unrestricted free agent in 2025. Markkanen is represented by Michael Lelchitski.
