Russell Westbrook Picks Up $4M Option With Clippers

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Jun 29, 2024 3:01 pm

Russell Westbrook has exercised his $4 million player option to return to the LA Clippers next season. Westbrook will enter his second full season with a Clippers team that could be in transition, pending what happens with free agency for Paul George and James Harden.

Westbrook averaged 11.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists for LA last season. He finished seventh in Sixth Man of the Year voting after playing 57 of his 68 games off the bench for the Clippers.

Sad day for a former MVP who has been relatively healthy, to play for peanuts. He is only 35, same age as PG, who is seeking a 4 year max deal. Even PJ Tucker at 39 is getting paid more than WB. Lakers destroyed his worth.

What a joke. The Lakers are now responsible for what everyone has been able to see for years plainly? Sure...

The only thing the Lakers were guilty of is being foolish enough to trade proven players for this guy.

Clippers fans would be singing the same tune if Russ has been eating up 47 million of their salary cap as well (and ever so conveniently ALWAYS leave this glaring fact out of the conversation).

If Russ had anything close to the skills all his homers want to believe, then he would have a vast market competing for his services. It's that simple.
