Golden State and Charlotte Swap point guards (Steph Curry-LaMelo Ball

Post#1 » by TWiseJr » Tue Jul 2, 2024 3:39 pm

Sure, Steph is the face of the franchise, but he is 36. Sure, LaMelo has had some injuries, but so did Steph early in his career.

So I propose a straight up swap. (Throw in Bertrand as salary filler and he can be released.) Golden State gets a 22 year old building block, Charlotte gets a local kid and Dell’s son, which the fans have wanted since the beginning of time.

I don't hate it, but Curry would have to approve or the Warriors wouldn't do it.

IF Curry asked to be traded, and IF Charlotte was on his list of teams, then maybe.

Why would steph do it?

If he wants to compete, this ain't it.
If he's sentimental and not into competing, why not stay home?

Also - I don't see it for the Hornets basketball wise. Mayyybbeeee marketing-wise, but I think more years of melo = more $$$ than a couple of curry years. Maybe not.

Curry finishes up on his hometown team.

GSW hits the reset button.

I like it.

What if you expanded it a little?

Grant Williams, LaMelo, and Bertans for Steph and Draymond?

Even at his age, Curry has more value than this for a contender. Warriors can do better.

It all depends on what Steph wants to be honest. I don't really see why he would want to leave Golden State for Charlotte because they can't pay him more than us and they're further from being competitive, but if he wants to finish his career in his hometown I think we would be willing to oblige

If only it would've been on the table before we spent the 6th pick on someone who is two years away from being two years away from being two years away, we might've actually been able to build something around him soon.

I do it anyway but our handling of that pick would be regretful

Are we sure Warriors wouldn't prefer Wiseman to LaMelo
