The Houston Rockets are unlikely to sign either Alperen Sengun or Jalen Green to max rookie extensions, reports Kelly Iko of The Athletic. Both Sengun and Green are eligible for a five-year deal worth up to $224.2 million.

The Rockets have had conversations with both camps about an extension and will continue that dialogue throughout the offseason, but the odds of either player signing one is slim. The Rockets are comfortable revisiting long-term contract talks with both players in 2025 as restricted free agents.

Sengun had a breakout season in 23-24, averaging 21.1 points, 9.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 32.5 minutes over 63 games. Sengun also had a PER of 21.8. Sengun is represented by Sean Kennedy and Bora Sancar.

Green averaged 19.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 31.7 minutes across all 82 games. In March, Green averaged 27.7 points on 49.2 percent shooting from the floor and 40.1 percent on three-pointers with a PER of 21.5. In February and April on either side of that excellent March, Green had a PER just over 10.0. Green is represented by Drew Morrison and Aaron Mintz.
