Miami-Atlanta
In looking at the NBA landscape it is clear that Miami needs to take a swing on an upper level talent to pair with Bam and Jimmy. The reports that came out this summer is that Murray had higher value in the market than Young. In light of that I think Miami should reach out to Atlanta to see if they can get Young. Something along the lines of:
Option 1
Heat get Young and Nance
Atlanta gets Herro, Rozier, 2030 FRP and 2026 Lakers second Rd pick and Orlando Robinson.
Why?
Miami takes a big a swing to get a high scoring backcourt and offensive engine to pair with Bam and Jimmy. He can take the scoring burden off Jimmy in the regular season. Young also really can elevate Bam and Ware as a facilitator and playmaker. Nance is a salary filler and could add additional frontcourt depth.
For Atlanta they remake their backcourt with Herro and Rozier. Herro fits the young timeline of Atlanta and could help lead take the scoring burden for the Hawks. Rozier helps Atlanta try to win this year since they do not have their own pick. Herro and Rozier combined can handle similar scoring potential as Young. They also get two picks albeit well into the future on the first. The Lakers 2026 2nd could be valuable. Robinson is small salary filler. This deal breaks Young’s deal into two smaller deals.
Option 2
Another option is to remove Rozier and put Duncan Robinson in the deal who contract is smaller and expires earlier. He only has $9 million guarantee for next year.
Atlanta gets Herro, Duncan, 2030 FRP and 2026 Lakers second Rd pick.
Heat get Young.

You basically want Atlanta to move Young for Herro and 1 far future first?

Fair enough. Realistically from any team what is the offer for Young that Atlanta says yes too. I don’t think Young is getting you what Bridges went for or what Lauri will be dealt for.
There have been multiple reports that Young’s value because of his contract and defensive liability was less than Murray. Murray went for 2 FRP, a young player and contract filler.
The first option includes Herro who is better than Dyson Daniels and is locked up long term, a future FRP, a second and a 20 pt per game PG who can help keep Atlanta battling for a playoff spot since they do not have their pick next year.

Why doesn't Atlanta just keep Young?

Why doesn't Atlanta just keep Young?
Certainly a very real possibility. Was curious to see where Hawks fans came in on this as it seems they are moving towards a rebuild of sorts.

At the very least lakers would offer their remaining 1sts and swaps for young which is way better than OP

Atlanta is without their next 3 frps. A rebuild us off the table unless they are able to get those picks back (not likely).ThaFranchize84 wrote:Godaddycurse wrote:ThaFranchize84 wrote:Fair enough. I don't see a deal where Atlanta deals Young now with them moving off of Murray.

Whether you think, he does not return what Bridges did, does not mean he isn't worth 2x what you proposed. Herro may be better than Hield and Trent, but those guys are not even getting a sniff, and could come a lot cheaper than Herro

Re: Miami-Atlanta
Heinously bad for Atl. Herro is not good. It should take a first just to unload him. Then its absolute meh for Trae in this proposal
